Yorkshire Charm, A Real Wedding – Brenda & Matt

Matt of Matt Foden Photography, featured on Brides Up North a few weeks ago, sent me his Real Wedding in the Yorkshire Dales to share with you.  The Yorkshire rain didn’t dampen this couples’ spirits, I am pleased to report! Good old fashioned Yorkshire romance at it’s best!

As if it even needs explaining, Matt tells us why this Southern couple came up North for the most important day of their lives: Brenda and I spent a wonderful weekend in the Dales for the first time in 2007, and really fell in love with the place. It wasn’t just the wonderful countryside we loved, but also the great food, the slower pace of life, and the friendly and warm people.

When planning our wedding we wanted something intimate, warm and homely. So for us, a wedding in the Dales made perfect sense!

Our wedding venue was the wonderful Red Lion in Burnsall, a family run hotel set in the heart of the Dales.  The staff were fantastic, and considering that we planned the wedding with them from our home in Surrey, the day ran without a hitch.

We chose a burnt orange and gold theme to fit in with the time of the year (Autumn), and the flowers were provided by Wendy from Hedgerow Florists in Threshfield.

As we are wedding photographers ourselves, finding the right photographers was an essential part of our plans.  Morgan and Diane of Morgan Photography stood out for us, for their natural and contemporary style. We also loved the clean uncluttered way they designed our Jorgensen album. Morgan and Diane were fabulous to work with, and given the constraints of the day (heavy rain) we were blown away by our photos!
