Its A Nice Day For A Royal Wedding! The Brides Up North Wedding Blog & Assassynation Rock The Royal Wedding Photo Shoot

You saw our first look on Monday, now we are back with the full set of Rock The Royal Wedding shots in all their punky princess glory.

Brides Up North and Assassynation wanted to do something a little bit different to celebrate the Royal Wedding after seeing so many traditional or vintage style tributes.  Gorgeous perhaps, but we wanted to liven the party up a little, be a bit naughty!  I guess Brides Up North is the Prince Harry of bridal blogs!

The Harrogate Wedding Lounge lent me a huge – and hugely gorgeous – chiffon gown by Ronald Joyce, which we draped in union jack bunting by Little Bundles Bunting and roughed up by adding some studded boots, a leather jacket and aviators.  A fabulous Swarovski Union Jack tiara specially commissioned (and worth over £1000!) from Tiararama plus a cute short veil (also from The Harrogate Wedding Lounge) completed the look.

Later, I slipped into an amazing tea length gown festooned with lace and beading by Maggie Sottero at The Harrogate Wedding Lounge.  I added some wholly inappropriate Agent Provocateur heels, a gorgeous sparkly headpiece from Wedding and Baby (which you can win by clicking here!) and more lippy.

With styling help from the wonderful Kim Groves at The Fine and Funky Events Company, expert direction from Assassynation and a beautiful location provided by Brides Up North Dream Venue Danby Castle near Whitby, I got down to some serious posing.

“Tough” isn’t normally in my temperament, so with my backcombed hair, heavy makeup and scowl, I felt a bit like Sandra Dee post makeover!  John Travolta was nowhere to be seen though, so instead of breaking into a rendition of “You’re The One That I Want” I concentrated on throwing some shapes and getting into character.  The result?  A cool set of images from Assassynation to commemorate Cool Britannia’s biggest reason to celebrate so far this Millennium!

I hope you enjoy the images.  I am only just getting all the tangles out of my hair, so you better had do…

.

Congratulations to the real Princess to be – you may not be all that rock and roll, but we love you!

With thanks and love to a truly wonderful set of ladies:

It may only be rock and roll but I LOVE it!!! Sassy is a master of the camera and I especially love the pic with the reflection in the sunglasses. And bunting wrapped around the dress? Genius.
