Colour Splash! A Real Wedding – Louise & Gareth

Meanwhile, over to Louise:  Gareth and I met when we worked together during the holidays whilst at separate Universities.  We have been together for six years now. Gareth proposed on 24 December 2009, he nipped to the supermarket to get a few last minute nibbles for the evening buffet (a family tradition) and unbeknownst to me, he went to the florist and bought a dozen gorgeous red roses.

I was amazed at how beautiful the roses were and didn’t see a silver rose (where the ring was hidden) in there at first until Gareth said “There’s a special one in there!”, as I pulled it out and opened it he proposed. .

He had asked my Dad in November and the whole family had kept it a secret! It was so romantic and the best Christmas ever!

We were married at St Mary’s Church in Mold, Flintshire with the reception at Rowton Hall in Chester.  Our florist, Alison’s Pot Pourri in Mold did a great job in bringing our hot pink and jade green colour scheme to life.

I wore an Alfred Angelo dress from Karen Lesley in Northop, Flintshire with shoes by Rainbow Club.  I’d always said I’d get my wedding dress from there right from being 12 years old! It turned out to be the first I tried on – my Mum cried!
