Jenny & Keith McAvoy Wedding Photographers whizzed over this gorgeous set of Real Wedding images to feature on the wedding blog this week. This wedding blogger loves a city wedding, and Manchester’s very Northern skyline is the perfect setting for a cool and cosmopolitan affair.

I can’t wait to head West for my Brides Up North Tweet Up in a week and a bit!

Let’s hear from Jenny: We met Kylie & Ian at the Manchester Central UK Wedding Show in October 2010. When we took them to Formby Beach for a pre wedding shoot, Kylie was very shy in front of the camera and said she hated being photographed and had never liked photos of herself. She told us at the end of the shoot that she had enjoyed it and when she viewed the images she cried because she loved them so much.

By her wedding day we had met the two of them several times and they were completely relaxed – in fact Kylie had blossomed into a diva – something she never dreamt was possible when we first met her 🙂

On the day of their wedding this March I spent the morning with Kylie and her bridesmaid getting lots of lovely relaxed shots of them getting ready in the fabulous bridal suite at Great John Street Hotel. Keith spent the morning with Ian and his brother, who was also best man.

The service was on the rooftop of the hotel which was fabulously decorated and lit with candles. The weather was beautiful and drinks were served on the roof top terrace.

The couple chose an afternoon tea followed by an evening BBQ – Ian is a chef and was worried that he would start critiquing the food if they had a sit down meal! Just as the sun was setting, after everyone had tucked into finger sandwiches, tea and cakes, we whisked Kylie and Ian off for 10 minutes for a stroll around Spinningfields in Manchester for some lovely city shots and for a few intimate portraits in the honeymoon suite.

Then came the speeches – hilarious, embarrassing and touching – just as wedding speeches should be!

Then it was time for the first dance before the barbeque was lit and the evening festivities began. All in all a beautiful, fun, classy day.

And guess what? When Kylie & Ian first saw their wedding photos Kylie cried again – job well done 🙂
