Natalie and Thomas got engaged on 25th December 2006 on the top of a mountain in Scotland, and married on 1st June 2011 on St.Tallanus Church, Talland Bay, Cornwall.

Natalie says: The church is set on a cliff top overlooking a clear water bay in a small village, we fell in love instantly, the hotel is also set in the same village overlooking the ocean and seemed perfect for our small intimate party.

We had a very natural and nautical theme  with hessian throws on the table and shells and candles lit throughout the hotel. The cake was pure Cornish cheeses from The Cheese Shed with un-iced fruit cake for a really rustic look.

We never really set out with a colour theme, I wore a midnight blue wedding dress and my husband wore a fitted suit in a bronze tone with a tweed waistcoat and tie.  The bridesmaids also wore shades of blue in their maxi dresses from Arrogant Cat.

I originally wanted a red wedding dress, but when I went to see my Eternity dress design that I had loved they had it in midnight blue and I instantly fell in love. I got it from a shop in Castleford that specialise in plus size dresses called The Big Day.

I spent a year collecting mother of pearl brooches and a month making my own (very heavy) crystal bouquet. Its made completely from fresh water pearls and mother of pearl with a few Swarovski crystals for sparkle. I had a pendant on the handle with a picture of my granddad to keep my company walking down the aisle.

After our meal we walked down to the beach with the dogs and had more pictures taken by our lovely friends, We then went to the Smugglers rest café which sits on the beach and had Pimms and more food and lots of laughter, watching two sets of family and friends have fun.

I don’t think I have a favourite moment, it was all amazing but if I had to pick it would be walking down the aisle and seeing Tom’s face light up.

My top tip for other is to make sure you make time for each other on the day to sit back and enjoy each other company. I would also recommend a videographer as there was so much I had forgotten so was nice to watch it back.
