School Daze, A Real Engagement – Gloria & Samuel

Happy Saturday!  What are you up to today?  I took a long look at my husband yesterday and realised that I had been neglecting him (for the good of the wedding blog may I add!), so we are off into town today to buy him some much needed new clothes.  I hadn’t realised that I was married to a scarecrow…

.

Whilst we shop… and hopefully fit in a sneaky Yo Sushi while we are at it, sit back and enjoy this very cool pre wedding shoot sent in by Brides Up North Featured Supplier Stan Seaton Photography on the wedding blog today.

Jane, of Stan Seaton Photography tells us:  Samuel and Gloria first met the day Gloria started university in Durham, Samuel was a second year student, and a relationship blossomed. They are both from Hong Kong but wanted to see more of the wider world by coming to England to study. On their return to Hong Kong they went their separate ways, although they did keep in touch.  It was Samuel’s mother who mainly kept in touch with Gloria and eventually made him see the error of his ways. And the rest is history…

They are getting married in Hong Kong in April 2012, but wanted to have a pre wedding shoot back in Durham where they first started. They opted to have three changes of outfit, casual, wedding and evening dress  and they gave us a brief of places that were special to them as well as wanting to capture the essence of Durham.

We retraced steps to their colleges, their student houses and obvious landmarks. They were so excited about revisiting all their old haunts, Samuel was just like a kid in a sweetie shop when exploring the tuck shop that he used to manage in his college halls.

We had a fabulous day with them learning more about Gloria and Samuel and their culture, it was certainly a a privilege to now be part of their special story.

Samuel & Gloria say: We are an extremely lucky couple because not only did we find a team who are truly professional – but also we found a team who are extremely passionate and serious about their work but yet still willing to take the time to be patient to understand our needs, to digest who we are, to make us happy – and more importantly to create a story with photos that turned out to be exactly what we wanted from our return visit to our roots.
