On The Beach! A Real Wedding, Laura & Rufus

South Yorkshire Wedding Photographer Andy Hook Photography is in big trouble with my husband.  After seeing the gorgeous images from Laura and Rufus’ Thai celebrations I have upped the ante on the “I need a holiday” nagging.  Not sure he’s getting the message though.  If you are planning a destination bash or if you just fancy a bit of Monday morning escapism, prepare to be inspired…

Laura tells us: Rufus and I got engaged in Sri Lanka in April 2010, and we married on 29 January 2011 in a beautiful villa on a private beach in Phuket, Thailand.

We wanted an exotic location where friends and family could come together to celebrate our big day as well as holiday with us. 

.

.

.

.

I chose an Ivory silk full length dress with bubble skirt and sweetheart neckline. I bought it in a dress shop in Hong Kong.  My bridesmaids wore gorgeous purple dresses from LK Bennett and I carried vibrant purple orchids to match.

.

Andy Hook was our photographer, and he did an awesome job, as these beautiful photographs show.

To add a personal touch, we placed name cards at each place in silver fortune cookie holders and on the back of each name card we wrote a special “fortune” for each guest which was tailored to that person.
