DIY Winter Wedding Inspiration – Festive Table Dressing

I do love a bit of twinkle.

A week or so ago I hosted a little Christmas soiree for 12 friends in the hubby and I’s teeny tiny top floor flat.  The theme was Mistletoe and Wine (Tasting) and each couple was tasked with bringing along two bottles of their finest plonk for a wine tasting competition, balanced out with plenty of cheese, crackers, mince pies and a wee dram of whisky or three.

Once we had squeezed two tables and 14 mismatched chairs into our living room, there wasn’t much room for decoration, but I wasn’t going to let a little thing like lack of space hold me back. 

.

The theme was fun, but I wanted to keep the decor Christmassy yet classy.  I chose white as a base colour, and let flickering candle light, silver accents and a smattering of sparkle take centre stage. 

.

Halfway through arranging the glass wear, the wedding blogger inside me kicked in and I realised that this would be an inexpensive and super fabulous way to dress a table for an intimate winter wedding, so I grabbed my Canon and clicked away so that I could share my table here.  I’m no professional photographer and my lighting is a little off, but please forgive me that.  I hope that you are inspired!

p.s.  My wine tasting score cards were perfectly aged… using the finest Yorkshire Tea.  A technique that I haven’t employed since primary school.  I think they rocked!
