British Babes In The Wood! A Jubliee Styled Bridal Shoot In The North West

I’m feeling proud to be a UK wedding blogger this weekend! Well and truly flying the flag for the long weekend today, we have a very British styled shoot from Bury, sent to me by Natalie of L.O.V.E. Bouquets. Some of my favourite North West suppliers worked together on this fun and colourful celebration shoot. If your spirits aren’t lifted by the thought of two extra lie ins, this should do the trick…

Natalie says: As 2012 is the year of the Olympics in the UK and of course the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we decided to theme our shoot around everything British and fabulous and of course the colours red, white and blue.
.
Living within the Summerseat area of Bury, I am literally on the doorstep of some beautiful British scenery and so we didn’t have to go far to create some amazing backdrops.

Our shoot would not have been possible without the gorgeous models on the day. Gwen and Michelle, who regularly work with Debbie at Glamour Bridal & Prom as part of her catwalk shows, and the lovely Charlene from Love Gets Sweeter Wedding Films also managed to re-arrange her busy schedule to come and join in the fun. So, we set to work early one bright and beautiful Wednesday morning in the midst of the mid-May heat wave.

Joanne of One Beautiful Day Make-up worked hard to create the ideas I had in my head and Zoe created dramatic ‘Rule Britania’ hair and then subtle bridal hair for the other models.

Our first port of call was a tea party on an expanse of grass with a huge union jack picnic blanket! We sampled some cupcake delights from the ever talented Helen of Cats Whiskers Cakes – a cake maker I have had the pleasure of working with on a number of occasions now. Helen used her latest gadget which allows her to print onto icing and the spectacular three tiered wedding cake featuring guardsmen and Big Ben was so in keeping with our theme.
.
Cooling the models in the mid-day heat was a task in itself, but the beautiful heart shaped, union jack inspired umbrella from LOVE Umbrellas did the trick – a welcome addition to any bridal party, come rain or shine!

As it was a thoroughly British shoot, Debbie opted to use two of her British designers, Amanda Wyatt and Charlotte Balbier. Amanda Wyatt was kind enough to lend us three of her brand new 2013 capsule collection designs, which have been previously unseen by the public before the shoot. ‘Heavenly’, ‘Codie’ and ‘Mia Rose’ looked positively stunning!

All Wrapped Up Events created the back drop for the images with red carpet and lots of hand made pom poms which added to the look of the shoot, we wanted Union Jacks everywhere and we didn’t hold back including the super large bouquet created by LO.V.E. Bouquets – a flag shaped bouquet using silk flowers and crystal and a smaller crystal bouquet featuring crowns and flags.

And we cant forget to mention Kay from Wrapor who made the most amazing Union Jack Wrap ever! I gave her the theme and she made a wrap that not only fitted in really well but made the shoot extra special and turned heads in the street.

I just want to say a massive thanks to the team it was a brilliant day with lots of laughs and cake!
