White Lace & Pearls: A Real Wedding In Yorkshire – Sian & Chris

Today’s beautiful Real Wedding, sent to me by Brides Up North Featured Supplier and fabulous photographer Richard Wynn Davies and real bride Sian is an absolute triumph in keeping things simple.

. 

Sian and Chris’ white lace and pearls theme is classic and classy, utterly un-dateable and ever chic. This quiet and pale palette shouts “lovely” loud!

Sian says:  We got engaged in October 2010.  We were on holiday and Chris proposed on our last day on a special little bridge in the Lake District.

.

.

We were married on 3rd August 2012 at St Paulinus Catholic Church, Dewsbury with our reception at Waterton Park Hotel, Wakefield.  We were ‘WOWED’ when we visited Waterton Park for a viewing, and the wonderful staff helped seal the deal.

We opted for a theme of white, lace and pearls. 

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

I chose an ivory, fitted, lace and embroidered long gown with a train from Celebrations Bridal House in Ossett, West Yorkshire – amazing staff!  I wore the beautiful ‘I LOVE YOU’ Pandora charm, which my husband bought me as a wedding gift, attached to my garter.

.

I carried a bouquet of white orchids in a tear drop arrangement by Gillian Brown Flowers.   

.

My bridesmaids wore cream lace dresses from Dorothy Perkins with ivory satin sashes and the groomsmen were in morning suits from Carl Stuart’s in Ossett.

My absolute favourite part of the day was walking out of the church with my new husband!

We chose a three tiered vanilla, chocolate Nutella and lemon sponge cake with white icing, pearl icing and edible lace detail, from Krista’s Cakes. 

.

We also organised a company to provide ice creams at the reception while we were having the photographs done. The Icicle Tricycle Company were fantastic!

.

After the wedding we honeymooned in New York for five days and St Lucia for ten days – bliss!

.

.

.

.

.

.

My top tip for other Brides Up North would be to love it and try to remember every single minute!

.

And book a good photographer (we used the amazing Richard Wynn Davies). Coming home from our honeymoon to the most amazing photographs made coming back to reality easier!
