Welcome to Monday Brides Up North!  Let’s spread the love this morning with this sweet Yorkshire engagement shoot, sent to me by Hayley Baxter Photography and Brides Up North reader Lindsay.  Love stories rock.

Lindsay tells us: We got engaged December 2011 at the La Rosa Boutique Hotel in Whitby and it was a total surprise! I had been wanting to stay at the hotel for ages due to its cool quirkiness and vintage styling.   Matt had wanted to propose on the balcony overlooking the harbour but when we arrived there wasn’t a balcony!

We were married on 1^st September 2012 at York Registry Office with the reception afterwards at St Williams College, York.  We’ll be back to share our Real Wedding photographs with Brides Up North very soon! I have loved using Brides Up North to help with my wedding planning as it gives you loads of info about local suppliers and services

We first met at work, where we used to work in the same team, sitting one desk apart. I don’t think the girl sat in between us was too thrilled about it!  On our first date, Matt came through to my house in York from Leeds and we were going to go out, but it was raining so we stayed in with takeaway and a DVD!  Very romantic!

I love that we work so well together, I am the ideas person and Matt is the one who puts the ideas into practice. If it was all left to me nothing would get done!

Our photographer Hayley offered the engagement shoot to us as part of the package for the wedding, but I would recommend it to anyone as it really put us at ease for the actual day.  Hayley really put us at ease. We thought we would be self conscious having photo’s taken in the centre of York, but we weren’t! It also meant we could pick out locations for our actual wedding photos. The street where the majority of the photos were taken worked really well and is a street I want to one day live on!

Our greatest wish for married life is to stay as happy as we are right now.
