You Are My Sunshine! A Real Destination Engagement Shoot In Lake Como – Lou & Chris (Plus One!)

Baby, it’s cold (and grim) outside.  And it’s a Tuesday. Ugh. 

.

But not in Lake Como, Italy, where it feels like Sunday every day of the week, and where we head this afternoon to hear about Lou & Chris’ love story and their destination wedding.  Let’s fly away.

Lou says:  We got engaged on Christmas day. Chris wrapped the ring box in a box and in another box until it looked much bigger. He put it in a stocking until later in the evening when we were alone. It was a total surprise.

We got married in a beautiful Villa at Lake Como on 27^th September 2013.

.

.

We knew each other at school but Chris got in touch on Facebook 22 years later. We led totally different lives so would never have met otherwise.  After talking on Facebook for a few months we agreed to meet. Chris is in the army and was recovering from surgery on his hip. I dragged him on crutches up and down steps to the restaurant I wanted, he was in pain as I chatted away but he never said. He said I was like an armadillo… a hard back with a soft underbelly and I was intrigued he had analysed me so well and so soon.

I knew that he was the one within a few months. The hours would fly when we were together. We were married within just two years. At 40 we knew what we wanted!

I love that he has such strong values and cares about my welfare before anything else in life. And that he adores and gets on so well with my five year old daughter.

Our greatest wish for married life is to live a simple life as a happy family in comfort.

The engagement shoot was suggested by our photographer Jess so that we could get used to each other and to being in front of the camera.  The shoot was fabulous and definitely made us more relaxed for the big day.
