Press Gang: Brides Up North in Etc Magazine

As well as curating and editing content for these swirly silver pages, I am also proud to contribute on a freelance basis to a raft of glossy magazines each month, both regional and National.

Crafting a magazine article is different to writing blog content – whilst I carefully research all my blog features, each print article needs to be planned in advance, structured for an audience that may be unfamiliar with my personal style of writing and it’s supporting images sourced, selected and credited.

Whilst writing the blog feels like a cosy chat with a friend (or tens of thousands of friends, hello you!), writing for print feels more formal. Whilst the process is more laborious, it’s also cathartic, and as long as they let me, I’ll be offering up my bridal based advice for your favourite bridal titles.

I’m currently a regular columnist for Wedding Magazine, Etc Magazine and LovedUp Magazine, and contribute regularly to Wedding Ideas Magazine and Mosaic Brides, as well as having features published in Bridal Buyer, Pure Weddings Magazine, Belle Bridal Magazine, Hitched Magazine, Fabulous Magazine, The Yorkshire Post, Harrogate Living, The Journal, The Daily Mirror, The Evening Chronicle, The Sunday Sun, The Times and Times Online. Phew.

So whilst blogs are most certainly where its at for up to the minute advice, 24 hour inspiration and can-read-at-work-ability (what, you too?), I still get a thrill from seeing my work in print. And call me old school, but I’m still not comfortable with reading my iPad in the bath…

Today I met with the fabulous team at popular regional title Etc Magazine, a title for whom I have been writing for the last quarter, to catch up and put the wheels in motion for continuing our great working relationship in 2013.
