Happy Mother’s Day Brides Up North! I hope that you are spending a wonderful Sunday with your favourite people, spoiling your own Mum, being spoilt yourself or simply taking time to remember and be grateful for the special people who touch our lives.

As my regular readers may be aware, I am currently anticipating the imminent arrival of motherhood myself. Although I have taken the decision to keep that little bit of my life private (and these swirly silver pages focussed on all things wedding) allow me a moment to say that if I am half the mother to my little arrival that my Mum is to me, I’ll be doing ok. Here’s to new adventures..!

Now, If you are a wedding industry reader or a visitor to one of our seventeen (17!) planned bridal events this year, you might have come across my lovely Mum in your recent dealings with the wedding blog as Kate now works with me behind the scenes here at Brides Up North Limited on the events and administration side of the business.

Whilst my “being boss” is something that we have both struggled to adapt to at times, there is no one I’d rather have by my side as we forge ahead with this little Northern Revolution, not least because – with 30 years of wedding planning, event and publishing experience under her belt – if she’d applied for the job, it would have been hers in an instant, but mostly because working with her is wonderful.

So thank you Mum, for being a brilliant colleague and an even more fabulous Mummy. This one’s for you, and I can’t wait to see how you adapt to your brand new role as Nana.
