Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun?! Our regular guest blogger Katy of What Katy Did Next is back, and this time she’s seeing red…

.
Katy says: This week I was given a challenge by reader Kristin, of creating a red wedding inspiration board that converted the usual Wintery rouge to a shade more appropriate to Spring. I’m not the biggest fan of red used in weddings – there are some really bad examples of it yet some are really fab! I decided to channel a Springtime boho goddess vibe using just hints of it in the colour scheme.

.
I adore the Stephanie Allin gown – with it’s perfect ditsy floral lace. The decorative style of the dress leaves little need for accessories. Let the dress do all the talking by keeping hair accessories simple with a birdcage veil to allow all angles of the dress to be on show – or for a more traditional look team with a single layer cathedral length veil pinned to a low chignon. For daring brides add a slick of berry to your lips with a natural look eye-shadow.

.
Take advantage of the newly emerging wildflowers and add pops of red roses, tulips or anemones to your floral displays in centrepieces as well as your bouquets. I really love the unusualness of the pomegranates in the table decor. If your wedding is late Spring/Summer you could even add wild berries or strawberries to the decor too. Having an outdoor wedding? Why not add lace and velvet ribbons with hints of red amongst ivory and white to the trees as an alternative to bunting?

.
Hopefully this has inspired a few of you – I’m looking forward to future red challenges! Don’t forget to get in touch with myself of Julia with your requests for future wedding inspiration boards.

.

.

Remember: the plan is to share a new inspiration board in this time slot every other week, either compiled by myself, regular guest blogger Katy or YOU: get in touch with your own ideas and inspiration boards! We’ll be discussing our inspirations behind the images too so it’s simply going to be a whole load of lovely.

.

If you are a little less arty but in need of inspiration and still want to play along, we will also be taking requests for colour schemes and themes and making bespoke boards for my readers. Please contact me to suggest a theme or colour scheme.
