Happy 15th Birthday Dine Services!

Julia Braime

.

Those of you who read the wedding blog regularly will know that I work very closely with my wonderful colleagues at Dine Services to bring you the majority of our beautiful Yorkshire wedding exhibitions and some of our industry networking events.  In fact, there may just be a few coming up this Autumn… it’s never to early to get those diaries out!

You will also know that back in mid March I welcomed my baby girl into the World.  Now of course, with any new arrival comes the required nine months of abstinence from any alcoholic tipple or real night out so it was with great excitement that I realised that an invitation to Dine Services’ fabulous 15th birthday celebrations at stunning The Mansion in Roundhay Park would mark my return to the social scene!

Founded in 1998 by Daniel Gill, 1000’s of clients have experienced exceptional catering and beautiful theming all pulled together by Dine’s team of dedicated event managers with an eye for fine detail who plan and deliver beyond expectations.

Dine Services are specialists in managing exclusive venues and creating incredible wedding & events

With a delicious four courses of fine dining on the menu plus free flowing specially paired wines and sake with every course, it’s a wonder that this light-weight can remember anything of the evening at all, but that said, the team so pulled out all the stops to create such an amazing event that it would be difficult to forget.

.

After worrying for weeks about the glamorous dress code (bear in mind that a month after baby arrived very little fit), I finally cobbled some glad rags together to join the team and their esteemed guests for an evening full of surprises.

Whilst “working the room” and consuming my body weight (see above, that was a lot!) of the most impressive canapés that I have ever tasted (think treacle cured Scottish salmon arrange on a pipette of oriental dressing and sweet chilli injected prawn tempuras) we were serenaded by group of amazing singers – they wouldn’t have been out of place in the West End – who had sneakily infiltrated the party dressed in Dine uniforms.  I had thought that the staff were looking unusually attractive that evening..!

Later in the evening, after a very theatrical serving of a giant Eton Mess in the centre of each table (complete with dry ice and white chocolate bombs), X Factor singer Carolynne Poole took to the stage, followed by a slave auction compared by Harry Gration.

.

At this point the sake had been finished and my poor husband was getting very twitchy as I bid and bid and bid to secure the services of some of my very favourite Yorkshire suppliers, including Brides Up North Featured Supplier Joel Skingle Photography and Horti-couture floristry.  Luckily others in the room had deeper pockets, and Alan’s wallet was safe (that night anyway)!

Dine weren’t just celebrating for the sake of it though!  Whilst I was busy building a horrendous hangover for the next morning, their birthday event raised in excess of £16,000 for charity, split between the Leeds Community Foundation and the MS Society, which really is something else.

.

As a result, my colleagues have been shortlisted for a well deserved Yorkshire Business Masters 2013 Award, in the Yorkshire Pride category for their amazing fundraising efforts, and I would love for you to take a moment to vote for them on the Business Desk website.  VOTING CLOSES TODAY and all it takes is a click to recognise this wonderful team’s stellar efforts.   Click here to visit the site and cast your vote.

.

You can also visit the Dine Services website to find out more about their venues, outside catering services and how they can make your wedding or event super special.  Tell them I say hello!
