You all know I’m not afraid to champion a true High Street Honey when I find one, but there are high street success stories and then there’s this brand new “8” Bridal collection by Phase Eight, which has completely knocked my socks off.
When it comes to “the gown” itself, I’m usually resolutely designer all the way. But, girls, this lady might be for turning. What do you think Brides Up North, does this stunning new collection make you think about buying (quelle horreur!) off the peg? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
And could I get away with the swishy number below at my baby girl’s christening? No? Bah.
Phase Eight say: Our new vintage inspired collection matches exquisite detailing with a contemporary silhouette to offer feminine elegance and delicate charm.
Breathtaking beading and vintage inspired lace designs are expertly fitted with clever inner construction and dreamy tulle skirts for a truly ethereal feel whilst luxurious fabrics, intricate embroidery, floral appliqué and fringing add unique style to each individual shape.
Building on last season’s successful bridal re-launch, we have expanded the 8 Bridal collection to feature a wider range of accessories designed to enhance and complement each look. Satin court shoes and dainty clutch bags sit beside encrusted fascinators, silk corsages, embellished belts, silk sashes and stunning capes in tulle and faux fur to ensure each bride can tailor her outfit to look and feel her absolute best for the special day.

Former lawyer and bride to be Julia founded Brides Up North in 2010 with a chip on her shoulder. Frustrated by the poor Northern presence in glossy bridal magazines and online, she decided to do something about it herself. Astounded by the rapid growth of her blog and brand, Julia now manages Brides Up North’s online content alongside their busy wedding exhibition season, industry events and related commissions. And she’s always, always, got a new project on the go…
