I always get excited to receive our engagement submissions for the blog because – and call me a nosy parker – I love reading every couple’s individual love story. Without exception, every one I receive is full of happiness and hope for the future.
Martyna and Daniel’s engagement announcement is no exception, so I hope you’ll join me in wishing them congratulations, luck and love. I’ll look forward to sharing their Real Wedding here on Brides Up North not too long from now.

Martyna says: Daniel asked me to marry him on my birthday – Christmas morning. The best birthday and Christmas present ever!
About 6 years ago we met at work and from then everything started! On our first date we went out to Pizza Express, our favourite restaurant in Manchester. I remember what we ordered and where we sat on that day.
From the beginning I knew this was it! I saw Dan going out and spending time with his younger brothers and from that time I was sure about him.
I love about Dan that he cares and respects me. Each time I need him, he is there. I love spending time with him, even when we don’t talk; it feels good when he is next to me.
To be honest I want our marriage be the same as our engagement but maybe with a few little kids next to us!
We arranged to capture our engagement on camera to remind us how happy we are and how beautiful time we spend together is. Also, we can show our pictures to our babies one day! The atmosphere on the photo shoot was very comfortable, we got on really well with Clare our photographer and you can see this afterwards on the pictures.
We are thinking about getting married sometime next year. We both like America, so maybe a wedding abroad. Whatever we decide, we’ll be back soon to share our day with Brides Up North!
Congratulations Martyna & Daniel!

Former lawyer and bride to be Julia founded Brides Up North in 2010 with a chip on her shoulder. Frustrated by the poor Northern presence in glossy bridal magazines and online, she decided to do something about it herself. Astounded by the rapid growth of her blog and brand, Julia now manages Brides Up North’s online content alongside their busy wedding exhibition season, industry events and related commissions. And she’s always, always, got a new project on the go…
