Brides, I feel your pain. My own wedding done and dusted, it’s now onto a whole different set of choices as we look forward to my baby girl’s christening this June. A joint celebration with her cousin, it’s my job to sort out the invitations. And its procrastination central round our place. The issue when planning our wedding was where to start, and now as editor of Brides Up North I’ve seen so much pretty stationery over the years that there’s too many places to start!
Brides Up North Featured Supplier Amanda of Love Invited has just thrown another spanner in the works, as she presents her beautiful range of luxury wedding stationery on the blog today.
Must. make. a. decision.
Good luck making your mind up too!
What’s the story behind Love Invited?
I’m Amanda Williams, founder of Love Invited, Luxury Wedding Stationery. I’ve spent over a decade in design and I’ve used that experience to create beautiful wedding invitations and complementary stationery brimming with joy, personality and individuality.
Love invited all began not only from a desire to design and create beautiful wedding stationery but we also wanted to ensure the process was as simple and hassle free as possible while maintaining the highest quality finish.
Just so you know this crucial part of your wedding day is in very safe hands here’s a bit of background about me. I’m a working mum with a passion for design. I’ve been working within the design industry for over 10 years now after graduating from university with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. I began my career as a designer, progressing to studio manager then on to account management, where my time was spent ensuring clients receive the best possible design service.
Who is a Love Invited bride?
When I was looking to design my own wedding stationery a few years ago I struggled to find inspiring, creative designs that reflected our personalities. We really wanted something that was modern and not run of the mill. This gave us the idea that there was a need to provide high quality, fresh designs with a simple ordering process at a price that is accessible to all. So a Love Invited bride is someone that doesn’t want to settle for the traditional, they want their personality and creativity to shine.
Where are you based? Do you work by appointment or online?
We have a lovely little studio in the beautifully restored Blue Pit Mill in Rochdale, just North of Manchester. Love Invited is predominantly web based; we have an online store where brides can browse and buy from our collections or request a personal consultation. I do encourage meeting in person, where possible, to get a better understanding of a couples personalities and requirements.
Tell us about the range of gorgeous designs on your website?
There is a varied selection of beautiful design collections to choose from on the website. We hope there is a collection to suit every bride from Art Deco with it’s 1920s glamour, the fun design and retro type of Lovebirds to the delicate floral print of Vintage Rose. The collections are all ready-to-go and semi-customisable to suit the customers needs. All collections include: save the date, day and evening invitations, additional information cards, invitation menus, RSVPs, order of service, table names, table menus, place cards, framed seating plans and thank you cards. Customers can provide wedding details and guest names etc, and customize colours when ordering online or choose to provide this information at a late date once the order is confirmed.

Can you produce completely bespoke designs?
If our design collections aren’t quite right, we can create something completely unique. I love working on bespoke projects, they’re so much fun and it’s great to see the end result.
We start every bespoke order with a consultation. Its more of a chat really just to get to know the happy couple and their wedding. We usually talk about wedding themes, colours, personalities and interests, family etc, anything goes within reason! Following on from the initial meeting, we work on the designs and refine them until the customer is ‘over the moon’ with the final design. We only use the highest quality, trusted printers to produce our stationery, which are then lovingly hand-finished by us.
What style of stationery designs are popular at the moment and do you think will be popular for next season?
I am finding more and more often that customers are looking for invitations that are small in size. This gives their guests something little, dainty and precious to mark your special day. Our Vintage Rose collection fits the bill perfectly and proved very popular last season and in to this season.
This year is all about the love for the romance and elegance of the 1920s into the Art Deco period. The return to tradition is inspired by Hollywood with brides wanting to achieve the look and sophistication of The Great Gatsby and Downton.
To give this theme a touch of 2014 add a bit of sparkle, don’t go mad though, a little bit of sparkle goes a long way! A touch on your dress, a dusting of glitter on your cake and the accessories placed on your tables can really set the scene. I recently spotted some beautiful sequin trimmed tealights, which looked amazing when they were lit and gave a beautifully romantic feel to the room.
What other products or services do you offer ?
As well as the collections available on the website and my bespoke service I also offer framed seating plans. These really make a statement and look great at any venue. Your wedding seating plan will be framed in either a beautiful vintage swept frame or elegant box frame with mount, prints and backing. You can choose from a large 20 x 30 inch (51cm x 76cm) table plan ideal for your venue’s easel/stand or a smaller table plan 16 x 20 inches (41cm x 51cm). Each framed table plan includes a bespoke double card mount to reflect your seating plan and the design will complement your chosen theme or your bespoke design. We can also create beautiful book bound wedding photo albums incorporating your design.
Who would be your dream client, and what sort of design would you envisage for them?
I would have to say someone who is open minded and wants to push boundaries with their wedding stationery. Someone who has an interesting and original theme that sees the stationery as an important part of the style of their wedding. If it was me personally I would love to see a contemporary and creative design, elegantly printed in letterpress and elegantly presented. Now look you’ve got me planning stationery for an imaginary client!
What would be your top five tips for Brides Up North when choosing their wedding stationery?
Research research research.
By gathering a few ideas together of the sort of designs you like, the theme and the overall look you would like to achieve it will ensure you get exactly what you are after
Start planning early.
If you know your date and venue let your guests know as soon as possible by sending out a save the date.
Keep it consistent
Your wedding stationery is the style setter for the day as your invitation will be the first time your guests will be introduced to your theme.
It is easier and usually more affordable to order a few more with your main order than ordering extras at a later date.
Make it yours
Try not to please everyone with your stationery, make sure it is a true representation of you as a couple and your big day.
What would be your no nos for Brides Up North when choosing their wedding stationery?
I think my no no has to be don’t let everyone pitch in on ideas and opinions so much that you forget what you wanted in the first place. It becomes one big stressful event when it should be fun. Even though everyone has their own taste we’re not huge fans of tacky ribbons, brooches, buckles or fonts and too many different elements going on in one place.
Does all the stationery have to match?
It does look effective if your stationery does match and it carries the theme though from your save the date and invitations right through to your wedding day and thank you cards. That’s not to say that each item has to look exactly the same, it just needs to have the same theme and feel.
What are your prices/price range, are you doing any special offers?
I hope we can cater for every budget and taste. With our invitations they start at £1.95 for a single card up to £4.60 for a pocket folder. We do have an offer at the moment if customers Share or Like Love Invited at the checkout stage they will receive an automatic 10% off their order.
Which of your ranges would you recommend for a Bride on a budget or if money was no object?
Within each collection I do offer options so if there is a pocket folder there is always a folded card or single card option, so you can have the design you like at your budget. The Vintage Rose collection is great if you are on a budget as it is simple and pretty but as it is printed on a lovely pearlescent card finished with a length of ribbon and a personalised tag it really is value for money. If money was no object I would say the Sweet heart collection is the way to go, it’s so much fun with the lollypop save the dates and the sweetie bag wallet that holds the invitation and additional cards looks very impressive.
Which designs are your bestsellers?
My best sellers over the last year have been Art Deco, Vintage Rose, Vintage Chic and Viva Las Vegas. I was surprised how popular Viva Las Vegas has been, but it is a great design and some much fun to work on.
What sets Love Invited apart from its competitors?
As your wedding day is going to be the biggest day of your life I aim to make this little part of the organising as simple as possible. I really care about every bride and their requirements whether they are ordering 10 place cards, 100 invitations or I am working on a completely bespoke order. I hope my personal creative approach to wedding stationery is a refreshing change.
How long do you take to turn around an order?
Well every order is different but usually you will have your gorgeous stationery order delivered by your postie within 3 weeks. Once and order is made I aim to send a digital visual on email within 2 working days. Following approval of the design I can print and deliver the order within 10 working days. Pretty speedy really.
