I’m a massive softie at heart, and spend most of the day at our Luxury Wedding Exhibitions indulging in girly talk with my readers – finding out all about their wedding plans and when and where they first met. It might be a little annoying for my fellow event managers, but I can’t help it. For me, before all the pretty, flowers and lace, the best thing about this blog is the people who fuel it.
Today I’m happy to share a beautiful
outdoorsy engagement
shoot and the accompanying love story of reader Sinead and her husband to be, Matty, as they prepare for their destination wedding this October. Not long now guys…With images by Chris Parkinson.

We got engaged on Christmas morning in 2011. Matty was planning it being a surprise but he didn’t know which ring to buy me. He ended up telling me so I could choose my own ring. We were sitting opening all our presents in my family’s houses when he finally gave me the ring and asked me to marry him. I thought he had changed his mind he took that long to propose! We are getting married on 23rd of October 2015 and we decided on Jamaica. We didn’t want all the stress that comes with planning a wedding in this country and the prospect of a holiday and tan helped us choose to elope. We are having a reception when we get back on the 7th November to celebrate with our family and friends who wont be joining us in Jamaica.
We first met in 2010, I used to cut Matty’s hair in the barbers that I work at. After cutting Matty’s hair for a few months he asked me on a date and I was in two minds if I should go or not! I am so pleased I did. We went for a meal and a game of bowling (which I won). We had such a good time together, we went on another four dates in that one week.
I knew Matty was the one fairly quickly, he makes me giggle all the time and he can change my mood instantly! I love how laid back Matty is, he never worries about a thing. He’ll do anything to make me happy and I love him for that.
I just wish for our lives together to be as happy as the last five years have been, I’m sure once we are married things can only get better.
We chose to have an engagement shoot because we love our dog, Mac, and after talking about ways to have him included we decided this would be a great way to do it. We also had a long engagement and thought it would help to remind us that we are engaged and actually getting married.
We both loved the engagement shoot, Chris was fantastic and with a bit of encouragement we quickly got into the swing of someone taking photos of us. Its made us both excited for the wedding and we cant wait to share all the images with our family and friends.
