This afternoon on the blog we’re sharing the beautiful pre-wedding shoot and love story of newlyweds Yasmin and Jordan.
Captured within autumnal leafy surroundings and beautiful gardens in Liverpool, these images literally pop of the page and the true, natural feelings that these two have for each other simply beam through. Just stunning!

We got engaged in April last year, we had a beautiful weekend with both of our families in Norfolk. It was characterised by lots of singing and good food! We both felt ready to get married and once we consulted our parents and had their approval, we were engaged! Our wedding was at Northbrook Park in January 2016, on a beautiful, bright day. Our families contributed in every aspect and helped us to create an unforgettable atmosphere of love.
We first met back in August 2012. We had both volunteered to help facilitate a week-long Bahai workshop for young people striving to better their communities through service to others.
We then started a beautiful process of getting to know each other and finding out about each other’s characters, on both an emotional and spiritual level. For a year we were apart when I lived in Zambia, but we used the time to establish a deep lasting friendship, which became the foundation of our love.
Sharing all of our core values and principles in the Bahai Faith meant we already had a huge amount in common to build upon.
I think that Jordan’s level of humility and gentleness, something that I’d never seen before, is what made me realise that he was the one for me. He’s also incredibly musically talented so watching him encouraging and teaching young people to sing and create songs was one of my first indicators that he was the selfless man that he is.

Yasmin has a way of lighting up the room with her smile and laughter, I was instantly enthralled! I spent the week loving every moment we spent together and seeing her creativity and passion expressed throughout that special week left an impression that none could match.I adore Yasmin’s laughter, hearing her giggle away with the most heartfelt laughter makes me feel ridiculously happy, especially as she’s the only person that laughs at my jokes!

What I love most about Jordan is his voice when he sings. It’s his truest self-expression and makes me feel quietly very happy each time I hear it. His voice is strong and beautiful and makes me feel at home, wherever in the world I am.We hope that the love that we have becomes generative during married life, and means that all of our family and friends benefit from our love.
Even before our wedding we absolutely loved Amy and Omid’s Photography, they are both friends of ours and we’d seen previous photos, which were incredible, so we knew that they could capture our love and friendship in a natural way during our engagement shoot.
They created such a fun atmosphere and we’re delighted with the results. We would absolutely recommend them to others!
We were incredibly lucky with our engagement shoot, in that we had such beautiful autumnal scenery and even though it was forecasted to rain the whole day, we caught a few hours of unexpected sunshine! Our photographers were incredibly relaxed, we almost didn’t feel we were posing for photographs, and they gave us beautiful results!
We found Brides Up North to be so informative when planning our wedding as it covers so many different aspects. We love how creative and beautifully laid out it is too!
