Taking place in the Huddersfield village of Slaithwaite – the area where this lovely couple are to set up their first home together – photographer Anna Wood, has captured the pair at their most relaxed. Cue cuddles in the coffee shop and kisses by the canal…

We got engaged under that famous tree on Hadrian’s Wall. It was a wet, windy and very long walk but Dom insisted we keep going. Each time I suggested turning back and he said, “We just need to go a bit further” – my suspicions grew! Our wedding is set for May, with a ceremony at Gledholt Methodist Church, Huddersfield, followed by a reception at the nearby Ukrainian Club.
We first met each other at Explorers Camp, a youth camp we continue to volunteer at each summer. The marquee we use at the camp in Ripon, will even be part of our wedding day!
For our first date, we went to one of our favourite places; Bolton Abbey in North Yorkshire. Dom is a bit of a history geek and Abbeys are to him, what tea is to me. Dom is a great encourager, always building me up. He makes me laugh and keeps me young – a full time occupation considering my love of sewing, tea and a good murder mystery.

I always thought Lisa was wise, attractive and clever. As I got to know her more I realised she was just as immature and silly as me. Then I knew that she was the one!Lisa is gorgeous and I love hearing her laugh! She is one of the wisest people I have ever met and I am truly blessed to have her.

What we are both looking forward to about married life is time together. No more long drives between houses, we can’t wait!We decided to have an engagement shoot with Anna so that we get comfortable in front of the camera and get some practice in before the wedding day.
The shoot took place in the village where our home-to-be is – Slaithwaite, Huddersfield. We love it and are so excited to start living there; we wanted the shoot to make the most of it. It’s full of beautiful cafes like Vanilla Bean, where some of the pictures were taken.
We had great fun on the day of the shoot, despite the weather! We’re looking forward to putting the pictures up in our little house soon.
