May 5th, 2017 | Julia Braime
It’s been a crazy couple of weeks behind the scenes here at Brides Up North HQ (ok, it’s been a crazy seven years, but who’s counting…) as we prepare to bring you our three most exciting events to date* – our epic festival wedding fairs, the wedfest’17 tour – starting with the glorious WEDSTOCK’17 at Stockeld Park, Yorkshire this coming Sunday 7th May 2017, 11am till 4pm, FREE ENTRY**
*and we create really exciting events.
**yes, you’re not seeing things, these EPIC events are FREE for you and your entire bridal party to attend (just make sure someone else is the designated driver for this one!)
To us, WEDSTOCK’17 is like all our Christmases coming at once… but kicking off the start of summer, with Pimms, and tents, and gorgeous gowns… and ALL the wedding inspiration!
If you’re a Yorkshire bride to be, Stockeld Park is where you need to be THIS SUNDAY, as we transform the popular attraction into a wedding wonderland with our huge sailcloth tent, tipi village, little and large yurts, vintage M.A.S.H tent, PIMMS Bar (in fact, there are a few bars to visit…) street food vendors, live bands, cars and campers, 70 luxury wedding suppliers and so much more. It’s one for every bride, whether your style is breezy boho or super chic. We’ve just made the planning process so much more fun – a real day out, rather than just ticking a box on your planning checklist. And grooms always seem to enjoy this one too…
THIS EVENT IS BIG, BEAUTIFUL AND BRILLIANTLY USEFUL – DON’T MISS IT!

If the weather is looking a little dubious on the day (but hey, it’s May, let’s look on the bright side!) there’s nothing to worry about either – all of our structures are perfectly weatherproof, warm and welcoming, so a little drizzle ain’t going to spoil our party. And what a party it’s going to be!
As well as our street food vendors, live music and entertainment, we’ve so many amazing exhibitors and styling ideas on show that you’ll leave with every last detail covered. Any Yorkshire supplier worth their sequins will be at Stockeld Park this Sunday, many offering on the day discounts too.
Grab a cocktail, stay for lunch, and get your wedding planning all wrapped up at the same time. Result.
It’s a fun and friendly day so grab your groom, your girl squad (and even your gran!) and get yourself to the bridal event that everyone’s been talking about. Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair… and we’ll see you on the field for WEDSTOCK’17!
To whet your appetite, or if you came, partied and wedding planned at our WEDSTOCK’16 event last year, here are some official photographs to get you excited or to remind you that Brides Up North do wedding fairs differently… and to celebrate what a great day we all had.

Former lawyer and bride to be Julia founded Brides Up North in 2010 with a chip on her shoulder. Frustrated by the poor Northern presence in glossy bridal magazines and online, she decided to do something about it herself. Astounded by the rapid growth of her blog and brand, Julia now manages Brides Up North’s online content alongside their busy wedding exhibition season, industry events and related commissions. And she’s always, always, got a new project on the go…
