If swishing around in a beautiful ballgown is something you consider to be an imperative part of your wedding dress shopping experience, then prepare to take a note of the boutique that we’re introducing as one of our new Sponsors on the blog today.

Chloë Jane Bridalwear is a super-friendly and super-stylish, family-run boutique, located in East Yorkshire, whose team loves nothing more than inviting brides for a good game of dress up to help narrow down their search to that one special dress, whilst having lots of fun along the way!

With a firm focus on fashion, the boutique houses a stunning array of designers and dress styles with something to suit all types of brides, plus helpful and honest advice at hand from owner Chloë Lindley, along with her sister and mum. Here to tell us more about their passion for all things wedding is the lovely Chloë herself.

Where is Chloë Jane Bridalwear located and how would you describe the look and feel of the boutique?

chloe says:

Our boutique is located in the small town of Howden, East Riding of Yorkshire, nestled in the market square just a stone’s throw from the Minster. Our chocolate-box style boutique has a warm welcoming appearance with a neutral colour pallet, chic hotel-style décor and modern furnishings to reflect our luxurious and stylish approach to weddings.

What designers do you stock and can you tell us a little about each one?

We are an exclusive stockist of Hayley Paige and Blush by Hayley Paige, a collection of unconventional gowns for the quirky bride. Ball gown silhouettes are Hayley’s thing, with waterfall tulle and delicate details, a fun and fresh collection that is sure to make any bride feel like a princess for the day, and we love her girly-girl style!

Alessandra Rinaudo is the queen of Italian couture; her gowns are exquisitely made with the finest quality fabrics and show stopping designs. The collection portrays timeless elegance within each style with sophisticated details, creating unforgettable brides.

We also stock Nicole Spose – a collection designed by Alessandra Rinaudo, which, of course, is inspired by Italian glamour. In my opinion Nicole Spose has the highest quality lace and that’s what the Italians do best, the figure hugging designs create sexy brides with traditional detailing. Think Dolce & Gabanna bride!

Chloe Bridals is a classic collection made up of beautiful designs, the built-in support and structure found in each gown create super flattering silhouettes and show off every curve to the max. Sparkles, lace, blush tones, pearls, lace applique, beading Chloe bridals have the prettiest designs to ensure a beautiful bride.

We also stock Sofia Bianca; the delicate feminine collection mixes silk Mikado fabrics with encrusted crystals and silk organza for the brides who love bling! Expect full skirts and fitted bodices with silk covered buttons flowing all the way to the train, who doesn’t love that?

Finally, we are excited to announce our newest arrival – SAVIN London, a beautiful couture collection of sharp cut gowns handmade in London. The craftsmanship and stunning details within the collection create show-stopping pieces. Alternative brides will also love SAVIN’s accessories, who wants a fur shrug when you can have a quirky lace biker jacket!?

How do you pick the right designers for Chloë Jane Bridalwear and what do you think makes a good bridal collection?

Our collection of gowns took a lot of building; I researched like crazy to find the perfect designers for our boutique. My main intention was to offer exclusive designs, so it was essential that the designers weren’t stocked at every boutique in the area. I obviously had to love the collections and I think it’s also important to have a strong working relationship with each company. I wanted to offer a varied selection of styles and silhouettes in a range of sizes too so that we had a gown for everyone. I believe we have created the grounds of a good bridal collection in which to grow and flourish in the future, and I am excited to see the collection evolve.

What current trends are you seeing in bridal wear and can you forecast any future trends that will be coming through?

Being from a fashion background, I think my heart will always lie with fashion forward bridal gowns. I love to see how designers push the boundaries with bridal trends, this season we’ve seen more and more sheer gowns than we could ever have imagined! Quirky sleeves have made an appearance too in bell styles at Hayley Paige, oversized ruffles at Alessandra Rinaudo and don’t forget those Vera Wang super-long extended sleeves.

I think next season we can expect to see super daring gowns, more sheer fabrics, and barely-there bodices.

What research or preparation would you advise brides to do before visiting the boutique?

I would always advise all brides to do a little research and think about what type of wedding their having. People may disagree, but I think your venue plays a huge part in the style of gown you opt for as I think it really influences your final decision. Also, be open-minded to trying new styles. Don’t forget bridal is a completely different shopping experience to any other, this will be the most precious item of clothing you will ever purchase and you have to have that connection to your gown. That’s when you know it’s the one!

What can brides expect from an appointment at Chloë Jane Bridalwear and how do you and your team help brides to find their dream dress?

In our appointments we just have fun! Shopping for your wedding dress is the best part of wedding planning and most brides find the first experience quiet daunting. We get the prosseco flowing and get to know all the juicy details about each brides wedding. We’re a family run business so my mum likes to bond with the mother-of-the-brides and mother-in-laws, and my sister Emily is fabulous at putting the brides to ease with her friendly personality. I always let my brides choose an initial selection of gowns, the styles that catch their eye and encourage them not to discard anything, just to try it on. Once we start trying I get to see the brides body shape better and what they are liking and not liking, and then recommend styles that I think will be suitable. It’s so much fun to have a grand reveal of the bride in each gown from down the steps of the dressing room into the front where her friends and family are sitting. The reactions are priceless! Once the bride has that initial feeling her emotions become clear and everyone in the boutique just knows it’s the one.

What size range of dresses do you stock?

We carry gowns in sizes 10 to 18 so there is something for everyone. And we can loan in plus sizes for appointments in necessary.

Can you tell us about the accessory ranges that you stock at the boutique?

We have a selection of Ivory & Co jewellery and headpieces, which I tend to change regularly. Once something sells I like to replace it with something new. We also have a large selection of veils from fingertip-length to cathedral-length with a variety of detailing to complement every style of gown. And I’m also very excited to reveal that we will soon be stocking an eight-piece collection of stunning Badgley Mischka shoes! There will be a variety of heel heights in ivory satins and maybe something blue!?

What is it that you love about the world of weddings and what do you enjoy most about your job?

We love being part of the wedding industry, everyone has welcomed us with open arms. We work really closely with a great team of professionals, known as the #dreamteam! All Occasions, Nice Icing and Saltmarshe Hall have been right behind us from day one, we’re like a little family now! I have keep constantly reminding myself that this is my job now, I honestly get so involved with my brides and build a such strong connections with them, it’s such a privilege to be a part of such a special experience. I love to guide each bride through her dress journey, they enter the store and were strangers and by the end of the appointment I know so much about them and they’ve let me into their lives and valued my advice. It’s that moment when a bride gets the emotional feeling inside and she can’t hide her reaction, when I get the most job satisfaction, that’s what I live for.

What sets Chloë Jane Bridalwear apart from other bridal boutiques?

Brides will find different designers at our boutique, which is really a big thing. Most brides are around a similar age when getting married, so find their friends have either already got married, or are planning their big day too, and the last thing they need is having a similar if not the same dress as their friend! We’re also a fun team; you can relax and feel at home in our boutique but at the same time rest assured you will receive the best advice and a truly memorable shopping experience, tailored especially for you.

How can Brides Up North readers get in touch / see more about the boutique?

We’re a little bit Instagram crazy, so if you’re a social media bunny you can keep up to date with us there. You’ll find snapshots of the store, blooms from our fabulous neighbours All Occasions florists, slow-mo ball gown spins (our favorite!) new window displays, upcoming events and all things wedding. Over on our website you can gain an insight into the boutique, the designers and styles we stock and meet the team. Email is probably the easiest way to get in touch, or I’m only a phone call away if you have any questions or enquiries.

Any upcoming events or exciting news to share?

I’ve given away most of my secrets…although, we do have one more bit of exciting news to reveal. After the success of our first ever Garden Party Fashion Show held this spring in the beautiful grounds of Saltmarshe Hall, we are thrilled to be hosting a Winter Wedding Fashion Show in the Hall itself. Follow us on Instagram for regular updates and sneak peeks of a day in the life at Chloë Jane Bridalwear.
