The keen Pinners out there are going to adore today’s celebration as its country vintage wedding theme means it has an abundance of gorgeous décor and details.

Cue hessian bound jars and tree slices, loose wild bloom displays, wooden crates and love hearts, plus one super sweet cake.

We have to say the bar is sky high across the board, resulting on some serious #weddinggoals! From the fine choice of venue to the stunning attire (both on the bride and groom’s side), not to mention the incredible florals. Guys, we’re head-over-heels for this one – and we think you might be too!

debbie says: We got engaged on Christmas Day morning in 2015. Matthew proposed in front of my three girls as he wanted then to be a part of it, which was very sweet. He sat me on the sofa told me to close my eyes and proposed. He then asked the girls if he could be their step dad, which was lovely.

Our wedding date was 10th August 2017, as this was the date of our first date, four years previous.

We chose The Grange Hotel as our venue – a beautiful Victorian hotel with a modern feel in our lovely home town of York.

Our theme was vintage, country style so lots of wood and hessian. The colour theme was browns, creams and blues to go with a vintage style theme.

My dress was a long, vintage style off-white design with a laced detailed back from a small wedding boutique, one-of-a-kind made-to-measure.

Matthew’s suit was handmade by his brother, who is a tailor on Saville Row in London. It was dark brown with baby blue stripes – again, one-of-a-kind.

The groomsman wore handmade suits also made by Matt’s brother, these were in navy.

My bridesmaids and flower girl wore matching dresses from BHS from their wedding collection, they were called Marylebone.

I stayed over at the venue the night before in the honeymoon suite with my sister-in-law. Then, on the day of the wedding, Matt his two brothers and my step-dad travelled to the venue in a BMW convertible.

Becki of All You Need is Love Photography, captured our wedding day – and did so perfectly! We had the group standard wedding photos, which are amazing, but our favourites are the natural ones she took and all the ones of our wedding venue, like the tables, the cake, wedding dress, shoes etc. We could not have asked for a better person to take our photos – we highly recommend Becki!

For my bouquet, I had the most beautiful bunch of wild flowers supplied by a lovely lady at Ducks & Daffodils, near Strensall, in York. It was made up of lots of blues, creams and greenery wrapped in hessian again to go with our theme.

We had minimal flowers at the venue as I wanted our wedding to be different, so I made the centrepieces myself with beautiful stock flowers of blue and white, which was in my bouquet. These were placed in G&T bottles as that’s mine and Matt’s favourite drink.

As favours, we had small silver fabric bags holding bubbles, a packet of seeds that said, “love grows here” on the packet, and a small shot bottle that had a label saying “we tied the knot so take a shot” -the guests loved them.

My mum’s friend made our cake. It was a two-tier sponge; plain on the bottom and chocolate on the top, with hessian wrapped around and our initials on. It was very simple but looked amazing and again this went with the theme as it was sat on a wooden log.

For the wedding breakfast, we had a posh buffet of chicken curry, vegetable curry, vegetable spring rolls, rice, meatballs, pizza and garlic bread, which tasted amazing and all the guests enjoyed it.

Entertainment-wise, my stepsister and her husband sang and played the guitar as I entered The Library and whilst we signed the register with our chosen songs, which was so beautiful. We also had a DJ for the evening reception, which was held downstairs in the basement of the hotel called the Ivy Brasserie.

After our wedding, we would highly recommend The Grange Hotel as it’s a gorgeous grand building in a great location with fabulous staff.

All of our day was truly fabulous but I especially loved walking down the aisle and the best men speeches, which were hilarious.

Following the big day, we had a five-night minimoon in Puerto Nous, Majorca. We stayed in a spa hotel, which it was amazing and so relaxing.

My top tip for other Brides Up North would be to keep calm get a wedding note book – write everything down! Start with choosing your venue and theme and the rest will fall into place.
