Set in leafy Sheffield, the stunning boutique hotel has a choice of beautifully presented function rooms, with adaptable space for small, intimate weddings as well as those up to 120 guests.

Where is the venue located?
halifax hall say: The venue is located in south west Sheffield, just a short walk from Ecclesall Road and the Botanical Gardens. The Hall is situated on the edge of the Endcliffe Village in picturesque gardens and has become established as one of Sheffield’s leading wedding venues, consistently being voted in the top ten hotels on TripAdvisor.
Can you tell us a little about the history of the venue?
Originally a Victorian steel baron’s mansion, and more recently a University hall of residence, Halifax Hall Hotel is a beautiful period property built in 1840, which was converted to a boutique hotel in 2013.
How would you describe the look and feel of the venue?
Halifax Hall’s stunning architecture provides an amazing backdrop for wedding photography and is the perfect venue for intimate ceremonies catering for between ten and 120 guests.
Can you tell us about the ceremony and reception areas?
Couples can hold their wedding ceremony in our light and airy Ennis Suite or the grander Dining Room, both of which offer neutral decor and plenty of natural light. The couple can then hire any of our five unique reception rooms for their wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.
What makes Halifax Hall a special wedding venue?
Due to the unique and bespoke way in which we approach weddings, we believe we offer a fantastic and flexible option to every bride and groom.
Our dedicated wedding team work with our couples to create a totally bespoke package for their big day, including personalised menus created by our talented chefs.
We support and encourage every couple’s individuality and ensure we commit a coordinator to be their point of contact from initial show round and throughout the planning process to create the day they imagined.
This level of service and versatility sets us apart and is a barometer of our commitment to ensure the perfect day each and every time.
What sort of bride would be a Halifax Hall bride?
A Halifax Hall bride would be someone that is open to ideas about the day and wants to create a really relaxed and personal atmosphere. The venue is decorated neutrally so it allows for a bride with plenty of creativity to bring their own touch to the venue.
How can your staff help to make the planning process easier and the big day amazing?
Once a couple has arranged external suppliers we will liaise with those businesses directly to confirm arrangements and discuss setup on the day, including decoration of the rooms by our team at the couple’s request. We do this to take the stress out of their day and don’t charge for this service.
We will fully deliver on dietary requirements, ensuring and acknowledging allergen specific requests.
The need to be dietary aware has also been extended to the wine menu, and we highlight vegetarian and vegan wine to ensure we meet the guests’ requirements with regard to their dietary needs.
For any guests who have accommodation reserved at the hotel we provide separate tables in the breakfast suites so wedding guests are grouped together. We also offer a room service breakfast to the bride on the morning of the wedding.
Can you tell us about the accommodation at the venue?
Halifax Hall offers 38 ensuite bedrooms, including three luxurious bridal suites.
Tell us about your catering services and what makes them special?
We love to create completely bespoke menus for weddings based on individual preferences. We offer special extra touches, such as Sheffield’s own Henderson’s Relish on the tables for appropriate dishes and individual tubs of Our Cow Molly ice-cream for dessert from our local dairy supplier. We like to keep things as local as possible and use such produce as much as we can. This is also the case with the bar and we are happy to provide alternative drinks from the bar and local options. Many weddings have been known to add a barrel of real ale to their booking or create their own cocktails.
In addition to offering bespoke menus, we’ve recently updated and enhanced the menu options in the wedding portfolio offering brides and grooms a greater choice of dishes to select from. A wood-fired pizza oven was also introduced in the garden following lots of requests for pizzas for evening buffets. The pizza bases are homemade and then personalised toppings added as per the bride and grooms’ preferences. To complete the process the pizzas are cooked in the oven in front of the guests adding some theatre to the experience.
What is the feedback like from couples about Halifax Hall?
Our brides and grooms say the nicest things and we love to receive their feedback and kind words. They have praise for all elements, in particular, the high level of customer service and the quality of the food, as well as complementing the venue and its grounds.

From the planning process to the day itself, nothing was too much trouble and the communication and service we received was second to none. Can you give Brides Up North an idea on price?
All of our weddings are priced on a bespoke basis so we can offer every couple exactly what they are looking for. As an approximate cost a couple can expect to pay £6,000 for a peak season wedding of 60 day guests and 100 evening guests.
