How is it only Tuesday? Take your mind of the nine ‘til five with this amazingly gorgeous alternative styled shoot, sent to us courtesy of two of the coolest suppliers in Yorkshire: creative wedding photographer Luke Holroyd, and The Aisle bridal boutique owner, Katie Brewer.

Along with a collective group of industry talents and two smoking hot models, they styled and produced this awesome set of images to inspire “edgy, trend driven and fashion-conscious individuals” – so if that sounds like your kinda jam, you’re going to want to absorb all the info they’re about to share.

Piecing together their very own modern love story around a young bride and groom doing their day, their way, the group staged the shoot at a popular Sheffield hang out and swapped traditional wedding attire in place of fashion-forward bridal dresses stocked at The Aisle, plus cool up-to-date accessories, including denim jackets, sneakers and biker boots. Oh yeah!!

Here to tell us more is the duo behind this fine urban spectacle, over you Luke and Katie…

: We wanted the shoot to be a little bit badass and quirky, removing ourselves from the norms of styled shoots.

Almost a modern-day Romeo and Juliet, our story creates a contemporary love story. The young couple have escaped the pressures of family and a traditional wedding, and instead go for a personal intimate event, at their favourite social venue. To them nothing is more important than each other.

The first look of the shoot is a more innocent natural style, and the second look is represents maturity, representing the couple’s own personal style.

The initial ideas were discussed by a selection of wedding vendors who all like to work with couples who break traditions. Those of us who worked on this shoot celebrate individuals and explore our creativity to capture something unique, bold and different to the norm. This shoot is for the edgy, trend driven, fashion-conscious individuals.

From the outset we knew we wanted to work with a venue that had something unique – popular with the cool kids. We landed on Hagglers Corner in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Not your typical venue, as a music venue and cafe, Hagglers Corner is a creative community of makers and doers, all residing under one roof and a lovely courtyard on the edge of Sheffield City Centre.

Gee and Kieran from Nemesis Models suited the bill perfectly, their look was exactly what we wanted. They brought their own style and personalities which made the shoot; and our images look unique and alternative.

Tigerlily Floral Art did the most incredible job on the bouquets and buttonholes. Creating a free-spirited bouquet of rich plum coloured callas, hellebores, roses and astrantia and used a king protea to give the design that urban edge. Complemented with ivory ranunculus, fritillaria and lush foliage’s of eucalyptus, sunset, nephrolepsis leaves with some fabulous trailing amaranthus and asparagus ferns.

The styling of the models was taken care of by makeup artist Evangeline Horner, and hair stylist Caroline Louise. We wanted the first look to be as natural as possible, giving a beautiful, innocent feel, soft and smoky tones for the eyes, with a nude lip. Gee has striking, full eyebrows so we made sure these were a focal point. For the second look we wanted something edgy and exciting, almost giving the feeling of changing from a girl to a woman. The eyes were much darker created with eyeliner and eyelashes, and the finishing touch been the plum lip colour to tie in with the hair.

: We provided outfits for Gee from our alternative bridal boutique based in Ilkley, Yorkshire, where our main ethos is ‘bridal meets fashion’. We went with two dresses, the first dress, Elsa by Temple by Bo and Luca, had fine fabrications of raw silk, intricate craftsmanship of hand beaded techniques, and contemporary fit; this dress reflected a sense of effortless and modern femininity. The second full lace dress, Belfort by designer Wendy Makin, with long sleeves and a high neck fused together vintage glamour with modern styling, giving us that rock ’n’ roll look we love.

We also mixed up the looks with the addition of cool denim jackets by Beespoke, which are also available here at The Aisle.
