So here they are! The official photographs from the first Brides Up North Tweet Up of the season – at As You Like It in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne. The Tweet Ups are not for profit wedding industry networking events organised and hosted by little old me, with support from Wedding Ideas Magazine. Basically my way of saying thank you to an industry who has welcomed me and supported me so wholeheartedly and who I am proud to call my people!

I was aiming for a relaxed party atmosphere, with a festival style decor. And oh what a night it was.

I may have felt a little fuzzy headed the next day.

I couldn’t have pulled this off on my own! It’s the people who make a party so huge thanks to every single person who made the effort to come along and then put so much effort into having a brilliant time once you arrived! I grew up in the North East of England and I’m seriously proud that my home town knows how to party so outstandingly.

The biggest thanks though must go to my sensational support group who gave up their own time for free to make this event the success that it was. You can’t get better than these industry greats. Big snaps for:

It’s Here – The Brides Up North Tweet Up North East PLUS Wednesday Wed-spiration: Pretty Pastels

BUN Tweet Ups 2012 .

It’s here! The very first Brides Up North Tweet Up with Wedding Ideas Magazine of the season! As well as running fabulous events for brides to be, I also like to find a way to say thank you to my wedding industry colleagues for their support throughout the year and these little parties are my way of doing it.

I’ve got a great team on hand today as we hit the North East – including the amazing Simply Bows & Chair Covers, The Finishing Touch Company, Baked Cupcakery, Love Is Sweet Company, Limelight Photobooth Hire, Mandy Charlton, Glen Roughhead, Little Bundles and TVV Productions – working to transform the already gorgeous As You Like It in Jesmond into a funky indoor festival setting, with some treats and surprises along the way. Official photographs and video coming soon!

My guest list is now full, so if you are a wedding industry professional in the North East who would like to attend this evening and who has not already registered please email julia@bridesupnorth.co.uk. I will try my very hardest to squeeze you in!

If you are a little less arty but in need of inspiration and still want to play along, we will also be taking requests for colour schemes and themes and making bespoke boards for my readers. Please contact me to suggest a theme or colour scheme.

Are You Ready North West? It’s Time For A Tweet Up!

The Brides Up North Tweet Ups are events for the wedding industry, rather than brides (you ladies will get your turn very shortly – watch this space), and are a chance for professionals to come together, have a laugh and a few drinks and get their networking on! I purposefully pick friendly yet gorgeous venues with great catering and easy to reach locations, then throw some good music and a few treats into the mix too.

Diaries At The Ready!

Since we are now on the downhill to the May bank holiday weekend (wahey!) I thought I’d take a minute or two to tell you about some events coming up in the next few weeks.

BUN Tweet Ups 2012

Of course, its the first Brides Up North Tweet Up of the season with Wedding Ideas Magazine next Wednesday 9th May 2012. This time we are in the North East at As You Like It, Jesmond from 7:30pm. This is a wedding industry networking event rather than a bridal event, but watch out for news of some of those coming very soon. If you are a North East wedding industry professional who would like to come along email julia@bridesupnorth.co.uk for your invitation. This is a non profit event.

Next Wednesday whilst the North East Tweet Up goes on, there’s also a fabulous event happening in Yorkshire, for brides to be and wedding industry alike this time. Brides Up North Featured Supplier, The Event Music Company are hosting one of their famous musical showcase evenings at Rudding Park, near Harrogate.

And with that, it’s over to the North West! Brides Up North Featured Supplier All Wrapped Up Events is celebrating a year in business with a very special party - and you are all invited!

Colette and Kelly say: So before “us” there was just All Wrapped Up (Wedding Planning) and Simply Covered (Chair Covers)…then in April we merged and in May 2011 we opened our little boutique and became a “WE”. Being best friends made the first year of the shop and business together a doddle… yes we’ve had our ups and downs along the way… but we have learnt a lot and also have grown into the company we wanted to be! So to celebrate this we are having a P A R T Y! Nothing too much, no dress code or glamour to be added… just us, you and a few cocktails!

Just Perfect Wedding Showcase

And finally, Brides Up North Featured Supplier Just Perfect is launching it’s own special wedding showcase on Thursday 31st May 2012 from 3pm – 7pm, in association with Thomson (another of my sponsors… this is all a bit of a love in!) and the Copthorne Hotel, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Wendy of Just Perfect Weddings & Events Gallery says: This is not a typical wedding fayre, more aimed at inspiring couples to go for something more unusual and push the boundaries a bit. We have four themed areas, lots of interactive stuff and some great freebies!

Let’s All ‘Av A Tweet Up – Yorkshire!

The last Brides Up North Tweet Up Yorkshire – a networking party especially for wedding industry professionals and supported by Wedding Ideas Magazine - was an absolutely brilliant evening, with The Mansion in Leeds packed with the region’s finest. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that it’s time to do it all over again.

Whoop whoop!

The invitations have been winging their way out this week, and the guest list is filling up very fast (in fact, it’s very nearly full!) but if you are a Yorkshire wedding industry professional, I would love to see you there!
