While all some brides have ever dreamt of is the traditional church wedding followed by an elegant hotel reception, others desire something more unusual for their ‘I do’ setting.
Thanks to relaxed wedding laws, the options for couples are now pretty much endless – from cinemas and art galleries to barns, warehouses and even treehouses; there really is venue to suit all styles, personalities and interests.
Perfect for marine fans out there, or those that simply want to stray on the other side of tradition, this spectacular venue promises ceremony and reception spaces like no other, with couples able to take their vows in-front of rare sea-life filled tanks, or even have a waddle of penguins observe their ring exchange. And don’t even get us started on the photo opportunities!

How would you describe the look and feel of the venue and what style of weddings does it suit?
the deep say: With amazing aquaria, stunning corals and bold architecture, The Deep is one of the most unique venues in Yorkshire. From traditional to romantic, or even a little bit quirky, any theme can find a home with us.
Can you tell us about the ceremony and reception areas and how many guests the venue can cater for?
We can accommodate celebrations of varying sizes – whether your wedding is a small, intimate affair or something much bigger, we have some great spaces for you to celebrate.
The Deep is licenced to hold civil ceremonies around the attraction, and so couples can choose from a range of locations to say ‘I do’. These include Endless Ocean alongside majestic green sawfish, sharks and rays, the dark and intimate Cool Seas, or in front of the quirky Gentoo penguins. We can also host ceremonies in the fourth-floor glass Observatory, which boasts views over Hull and the Humber.
What makes The Deep a special wedding venue and sets it apart from others?
The Deep offers unusual and distinctive locations for wedding celebrations and the photographs. Couples can be captured walking through the underwater tunnel, with the beautiful jellyfish or maybe a catfish or two! Then head to the Observatory at sunset to capture romantic moments like no other.
How can your staff help to make the planning process easier and the big day amazing?
Our dedicated events team pride themselves on attention to detail and ensuring the most important day of your life goes without a hitch.
Do you have any accommodation or getting ready areas at the venue?
There are rooms on site that can be used for changing subject to availability. The Deep doesn’t have its own accommodation but is close to several hotels that suit a variety of budgets.
Tell us about your catering options at the venue…
Your first meal as a married couple is extremely important, so be assured that our in-house chefs can muster up a masterpiece. From simple canapés to a three-course dinner, all our food is sourced locally, prepared in-house and served to you by our experienced corporate team. We do not allow external catering to be brought onto site, but we are able to cater for special dietary requirements including gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan.

Because we only have one of each of these samples available to buy, we are selling these beautiful gowns at a reduced price and, for those brides who have done their research, we can promise these are deals you won’t want to miss.
Sample sales are ideal for brides who yearn for a designer dress, but whose budget won’t quite stretch, for brides with less than six-months to go before their big day (so no time to order new) or for brides who know exactly what style and fit of dress suits them.
All the dresses on display are for sale ‘off the peg,’ available to take home with you on the day, and must be paid for in full, so we encourage bringing someone with you who is both honest and decisive!
The gowns included in this event generally range from a bridal size 10 to a size 12, but most can be taken in by up a couple of dress sizes too.

It’s time to get those diaries out again ladies as we have news of an exciting event that’s happening in Yorkshire this week, at which you could find the dress of your dreams.
Our brand new Sponsor, the gorgeous Perfect Daze bridal boutique located in the picturesque village of Scissett, is now stocking top British designer Suzanne Neville, and will be celebrating with a special launch event on Thursday 9th November.
Taking place between 3pm and 9pm at local venue, Holmfirth Vineyard, within its new function room, Perfect Daze owner Emma Roberts is inviting you lucky brides-to-be to view stunning gowns from the sensational Suzanne Neville Belle Époque collection, while meeting fellow suppliers, viewing the gorgeous setting and sipping on a glass of bubbly, of course!
We’ll hand over the blog to Emma now to fill us in on all the fabulous details, including how to get your hands on tickets to the event (did we mention entry is free?!) – and if the above wasn’t enough to tempt you, we’re pretty sure the images of the collection accompanying this post will seal the deal…
Can you tell us what brides-to-be can expect from the event?
emma says: Brides-to-be will be able to see the Suzanne Neville dresses up close as all eight will be displayed on mannequins. There will also be a harpist, photographer, florist and Neil Geddes, who designs and creates individual jewellery pieces.
There will be fizz and a prize draw to win a bottle of Suzanne Neville perfume for all those who register and attend the event. Brides in attendance will also have the first opportunity to book in and try on the new dresses.
Can you tell us a little about the Suzanne Neville dresses that you will be stocking?
The eight pieces are from the Belle Époque collection and we’re among the first in the UK to get the dresses in. The designs are magnificent and varied, made from the most beautiful fabrics, exquisite laces, embroidered tulles, piqué, cloqué silks, clean crepes and satins.
Why did you want to stock Suzanne Neville at your boutique?
I have always loved Suzanne Neville and thought it would be a dream to stock her dresses, so I feel very honoured that they said yes to us. We have increased the price point of our full collection by introducing Enzoani Beautiful, Enzoani Blue and Badgley Mischka and I felt we needed a jewel in our crown. Suzanne Neville is the perfect complement to the Enzoani dresses – we love chic, tailored designs with a little twist. The corsetry and workmanship is exquisite and I can’t tell you how excited we are to introduce them into the shop!
Do you have a personal favourite from the collection?
I love Swanson, Rosa and if I was to get married again, without doubt, it would be in Coco.
What type of bride will the collection appeal to?
The collection will appeal to the savvy bride, the lady who really knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go and get it. Our Suzanne Neville brides will appreciate simple design and quality and know that less is definitely more!
What is the price range of the collection?
Price range from £2,500 to £4,000.
What are you looking forward to most about the event?
I am so proud of what we have achieved and excited about the future of the industry that I want to share it with people. I love the fact it will be a gallery type of setting, without the stands that are usual at such events. I am hoping my old customers will also come along and I will be able to catch up with them too.
How do brides get hold of tickets for the event?
Tickets are available here on Eventbrite. They are free and will enter ladies into the perfume draw if they attend the event. Anyone can come and have a look, it’s not just open to brides-to-be, it’s a celebration of very beautiful dresses.

As bloggers, we’re the first to rave about how useful the internet is in sourcing wedding suppliers and gaining glorious big day ideas. However, we also value the importance of meeting suppliers face to face, hence our epic season of Brides Up North wedding fairs held at some of the finest venues across the North (if you haven’t already, be sure to check out our upcoming events here.)
While we’ll be taking a one-weekend break from the wedding fair scene on Sunday 29th October, we have details of a massively swoon-worthy event staged by our fabulous Sponsor, LOVE Bridal Boutique, at gorgeous Cheshire wedding venue, Styal Lodge – well we wouldn’t leave your diaries with a gap in now, would we?!
Now in its fourth year, The Wedding Edit is a strictly girls-only event, that unveils LOVE’s latest dress collections providing heaps of heavenly styling inspiration. Furthermore, a hand-picked selection of North West suppliers will be in attendance to showcase their talents, and we hear there are some tasty culinary treats in store too!

When is the event taking place and what will it include?
emma says: The Wedding Edit will take place from 12 noon until around 3pm on Sunday 29th October. The main event will be the catwalk show where we are proudly showcasing the latest collections from Sarah Seven, Sassi Holford, Enzoani, and our new collection from Savannah Miller will make its debut.
Brides and their guests will be welcomed with drinks and throughout the course of the event will have the opportunity to chat about all things wedding with some of the very best wedding suppliers in the North West, who will be there to offer their advice, guidance and inspiration.
What suppliers will be involved in the day?
We, LOVE Bridal Boutique will be hosting the event at Styal Lodge and will be joined by Jonny Draper Photography; The Flower Lounge and The Soiree Stylists, who will dressing the event; The Switch Entertainment, featuring Ellie Sax, Laserboy Wonder and Sash Sings; Flossy and Leigh, who will be styling our models and will be on hand to talk bridal hair and makeup; Pink Pepper, who will be providing stunning edible treats – and we will have a little surprise for our guests too! Other suppliers include Cakes by Yolk, Whitfield and Ward, Adam Wing Films, Lucy Wright Events, The Word is Love, Hipswing and Eleventh Heaven by Ann McAvney, plus shoes from Harriet Wilde and Charlotte Mills will feature on the catwalk.
What can brides-to-be planning their wedding get out of the event?
Strictly a girls-only event, brides-to-be and their guest will have the opportunity to see all of the brand-new collections that have only just arrived in store.
They will be able to take inspiration on how dresses can be styled, looking at accessories, hair and makeup as well as get a real sense of how the dresses move and fit, off the hanger.
My team and I will be on hand to chat about the dresses and the process/timescales involved in buying a wedding dress as well as the opportunity to book an exclusive appointment.
Will there be any special treats in store?
Cocktails on tap, goody bags for our brides, treats to sample, heaps of inspiration and plenty of selfie opportunities – a definite Instagrammable event!
What are you looking forward to most about the event?
Seeing the look on our guests faces when we unveil our new collections! Now in its fourth year, we still can’t get enough of the vibe and eager anticipation as everyone takes their seats for the catwalk show.

This is Sarah Seven’s only stop in England on her Trunk Show tour of America and Europe this year. Most of the gowns from her new The Romantics Part II collection will only be available during Sarah’s two-day visit, so this is a rare opportunity to find the dress. Brides will not only get an exclusive look at this new collection but also meet and be styled by Sarah Seven herself!
How many appointments will be available over the two days?

Tell us a little about Sarah Seven’s designs…
Sarah Seven’s designs are unashamedly feminine and whimsical; awash with masses of soft tulle, sequins, lace and plunging necklines. Her designs have a young aesthetic, but take inspiration from eras gone by, making her collections appeal to a broad range of brides.
Starting at around £1,800, these gowns are beautifully embellished and heavy on detailing and texture, all whilst retaining simple, clean cut lines and elegance.
Any particular favourites or stand out pieces within her collections for you personally?
The Milo gown has already stolen the hearts of so many brides on Sarah’s Instagram feed with its heavy lace detail, plunging neckline and dramatic cape-like sleeves. It just screams wow! What’s not to love?!
What sizes are Sarah Seven’s designs available in?
Dresses can be ordered from UK size 4 to 18, with plus sizes available too.
And what is the price range of the dresses?
Prices start from around £1,800 up to around £4,000 with the majority sitting around £2,000 to £2,500.
