Kristy says:  Antony proposed on New Years Day 2011 at the top of the Rockefeller Centre in New York with a jelly sweet ring and we were married on 30^th June 2012 at Allerton Castle, North Yorkshire.

We were blown away with the grand presence of the building both inside and out. The moment we saw the grand hall and stunning staircase we knew this was our perfect venue. It actually brought tears to our eyes and we were overwhelmed.  It was an important factor to consider the weather may not be perfect and we knew Allerton Castle could accommodate all weathers.

We based our theme around New York and the colour was based on a Tiffanys box where my engagement ring came from. We made a conscious effort to bring New York into our day without being NYC over the top.

Antony was surprised by the NYC Yellow Cab from Hi-Life. He and his groomsmen travelled in style whilst the girls and I got ready at Allerton Castle, with hair and make-up by Debonnesse.

My dress was bespoke; I had very clear ideas of how I wanted the dress to look. Suzanne Neville designed and created my dream dress.

.

The bridesmaids wore Dessy dresses in Spa, with matching shoes. The flower girl and page boy wore ivory to compliment my wedding dress.

.

The groomsmen wore light grey suits from Next with spa ties and handkerchiefs.

.

Antony choose to have a bespoke suit made in total contrast to the groomsmen’s suits. This was made my Michelsberg Tailors.

Seeing my father’s reaction when he saw me in my dress for the first time was a memory I will cherish forever. Chris captured this moment perfectly and it brings a tear not only to my eyes but to everyone that sees it.

Antony in particular loves the moment he turned to see me coming down the stairs.

.

.

I carried a bouquet of Picasso calla lilies with a matching button hole for Antony.  The bridesmaids wore wrist corsages of roses and the other buttonholes were roses too.  We choose the Picasso calla for our candelabras and service flowers and the deep purple complimented the Tiffany blue perfectly.  All our flowers were by Firenza Floral Design.

I chose to wear my grandmother’s wedding ring as my wedding ring. Sadly my grandmother passed away some years ago. The ring was dipped in platinum to match my engagement ring.

We chose Jelly Rings as favours – to symbolise the Jelly Ring Proposal!  Cande Cakes made our wedding cake.

The wedding breakfast room looked beautiful, with chair covers by Ambience Venue Styling.  Our caterers, hosts and wedding coordinators for the day were Dine Services.

My father’s speech was both genius and filled with a rollercoaster of emotions it was absolutely brilliant and made us both extremely proud and overwhelmed.

The Event Music Company played during our service and reception.

Our Strictly Come Dancing first dance including personalised voiceover from Alan Dedicoat (The voice of Strictly Come Dancing)!  Then we organised a DJ from Exclusive Entertainments and fireworks as a surprise to our guests.

We had a mini moon to Sorrento, Italy to relax and reflect our magical day.  Our honeymoon is to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and New York.

My top tip for other Brides Up North would be to relax on the day, enjoy every second of it together and take in as much as possible.  Do not get stressed, if things go wrong laugh about it. Remember the reason you are there it’s about two people who love each other and want to get married sharing their day with friends and family. Nobody is bothered if things go wrong after all we are all human!

.

Nothing can spoil your day not even the bad British weather. The crazy weather we experienced was actually a plus and delivered the most amazing photos we could never have dreamt of by our brilliant photographer Chris Chambers Photography.
