Happy Monday y’all! Let’s start it as we mean to go on… with a little hyper pretty! If you love a picturesque backdrop then the good news is that today’s real wedding has got this in spades! We’re heading to the Yorkshire Dales for Rebecca and Dominic’s special day at the quaint 13th Century Barden Tower, set within Grade I listed surroundings.

Tying the knot back in June – the very weekend the bride’s parents got married 32 years previously – the couple chose this date in hope of landing some beautiful weather, which we’re pleased to hear, they got! And boy, does the wonderful weather lend itself to some rather unforgettable photographs of the couple amidst the venue’s mystical historical ruins.

Inside, the venue is equally as stunning, with exposed stonewalls, high ceilings and chandeliers providing a breathtaking setting for the couple’s ceremony and celebrations afterwards. Combine this with the couple’s pastel colour scheme and abundance of roses, peonies and greenery, and you’ve got yourself a wedding that’s like something straight out of a romantic period novel. Enjoy!

rebecca says: We got engaged in Australia, at Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay. Dom proposed following a romantic meal. We went to a beautiful beach with amazing views that was just across the road from where we were staying, and there was no one else around when he popped the question.

We tied the knot on 23rd June 2018. We chose this date as we were hoping for beautiful weather (which we got!) to complement the stunning venue at Barden Tower with the fantastic picturesque scenery of the Yorkshire Dales. It happened to be the same weekend that my parents had got married 32 years before as well as being an even year (which was one of my requirements!).

We got married at the stunning venue that is Barden Tower in Barden. It is a gorgeous Grade I listed geographical location with phenomenal views and surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales. The staff and especially Debbie (the lady in charge at the venue) were so accommodating and put us at ease throughout the whole process making it as stress free as possible. It was the perfect place for our special day.

We went with a very natural theme for our wedding. This included more pastel-based colours of natural pinks, greens and cream reflected in all of the flowers and my bouquet. This colour scheme also complemented the fresh flowers that decorated the stunning venue and the bridesmaids’ dresses.

When it came to my dress, I went to many shops and tried on many dresses before I found it. I wanted something that replicated me and my personality and as soon as I tried my dress on, I just knew it was the one. It was an Enzoani design elegant, full-length, mesh chiffon sheath gown featuring a high halter neckline and Guipure lace. It had a keyhole back and a delicate tulle and Guipure lace train. I loved it. I purchased it from Scarlet Poppy in Leeds and they were amazing – from the sales assistant to the seamstress, Louise.

Dominic wore a peppered blue suit with a tweed style grey waistcoat with blue checks and a knitted blue bow tie – all were purchased from Moss Bros in Leeds. This was a tailored option with a personalised trim. He wore blue brogues with a blue suede trim, purchased from Slaters in Leeds.
