Is there anything more romantic than blooms and botanics? Whether blousy, trailing or dainty, we love to see them blossoming throughout all elements of a wedding. Most would automatically think of flowers taking centerstage in terms of bouquets, buttonholes and table centres, but the floral detailing we’re spotlighting on the blog today comes in the form of gorgeous wedding gowns!
Currently a lead trend in bridalwear, there are lots of ways to introduce an au naturale twist to your big day attire, be it intricate embroidery to the bodice, understated embellishments, or delicate appliques speckled across your train and skirt.
And let’s not forget about the impact of colour in embodying all things garden-inspired. For a truly show-stopping moment, think about introducing subtle accents of pastel hues like pink or lilac, or even bolder shades like red to really bring your wedding gown to life. Perfect, too, for the bride who wants to break from tradition and deviate from the minimalist, and shall we say it, more predictable palettes of plain ivory and white.
If you’re looking for a sweet and ultra-romantic bridal look showered in pretty flowers and leaves – the following designers come top of our list when it comes to nailing this ever so beautiful and enduring bridal trend. And the good news is that a floral gown isn’t just for the summertime boho wedding, it’s perfect all year round.

First up, we’re showcasing Claire Pettibone’s graceful gowns, which are best described as a true vision of nature’s beauty. The gorgeous Maia dress is the true essence of this collection, combining a delicate tulle gown with soft yet colourful embroidered roses, leaves and hydrangeas, not to mention the brand’s signature illusion back and neckline. The Papillon gown, meanwhile, is adorned with beaded floral embroidery and tinted butterfly appliques for an ultra-feminine bridal look that’s got us dreaming of secret gardens and sunnier climes. Continuing along a similar vein is the Santorini which comes in dreamy shades of porcelain, almond or mocha, adorned with beaded silk flowers, all beautifully offset by luxurious pearls and stones. By contrast, a Dutch floral masterpiece comes to life in the Raven gown which – as the name rather nicely alludes to – features shimmering silver sequin lace and black tulle tempered by painterly pink and red roses – an exquisite palette for a winter’s wedding, if we do say so ourselves!
Galia Lahav’s Florence by Night collection is something quite extraordinary, delving into the world of scents and perfumery and the role each bud, petal, herb and leaf plays in creating the perfect fragrance. These dresses, in turn, showcase the brand’s interpretation of this intangible world in the most fantastical of ways. We think you’re going to fall in love with these creations. The Casablanca Lily, for example, brings together a ballgown with 3D rose motifs, a sheer corset, pleated skirt and ruffle detailing to the shoulder. Another favourite of ours is the Rose Water gown with its dainty silver beads and crystal stardust effect for a real fairy-like princess moment. Leaf motifs, organza flowers and a hand embroidered neckline are the gorgeous details to take note of from the Bryony gown, perfectly paired with a low back and plunging sweetheart neckline for something a little more sultry. And we couldn’t feature Galia without mentioning the Cinderella gown from its La Reves Bohemian collection, an ice blue dress complete with sheer corset, divine appliques and off the shoulder details. Simply stunning!
