rustic dreaming. a pretty pink wedding at woodhill hall – lianne & lee

Happy Fri-yay! To get your weekend off to a fabulously pretty start we’re sharing this gorgeous real wedding which took place up in the North East.

To complement the setting of their indoor ceremony at Woodhill Hall, Lee and Lianne decided on a rustic theme with pretty vintage touches added along the way which remained in keeping with their romantic colour scheme. In particular we love the blousy blooms and elegant detailed wedding cake!

For their evening celebrations the bride, groom and their guests then moved onto a beautifully decorated tepee in the venue’s grounds, where the real party got underway!

lianne says: We got engaged whilst on holiday in Benalmadena, southern Spain. On the way to a restaurant on the harbour we took a romantic stroll along the pier to a lighthouse for what I thought was to take some photos. Lee then asked me to close my eyes and when I opened them he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

We got married on Saturday 18th July 2015, at Woodhill Hall, Otterburn, Northumberland.

In terms of the venue we were looking for something a bit different and less traditional. When we walked into Woodhill Hall we instantly looked at each other and said what a lovely feeling the venue had. The fact we had the hall to ourselves for a weekend with 13 rooms to have our family and friends stay with us made it so much more personal. There was no doubt after we took our first viewing it was the right venue for us.

Featured Supplier Helen Russell Photography knows what its like to wear a big white dress and take her place on the other side of the lens too, as she got hitched to her fiancé David this summer.  I couldn’t wait to share this cute (and ridiculously gorgeous!) couple’s official engagement shots with you on the wedding blog this morning! Before David and I got married this Summer, we chose to have an engagement session with our photographers in Tynemouth.  It might seem a bit strange picking Tynemouth Metro train station but we just love the Victorian architecture , especially the way the light pours  in on a sunny day and most importantly on our rare days off  together we love nothing more than a stroll around their Sunday market at the station or to grab some fish and chips at the seaside.

David Armor LMPA and Paul Madison LMPA of Focal Point Photography were our photographers of choice.  They were very good to me and showed  me the ropes when I first started out in the photography business and also have too many awards under the belt to mention.

We tied the knot on 15th July 2011 {all the images coming up soon on the wedding blog}.  What I am most looking forward to about marred life is commitment, life long happiness and love with my best friend, growing old together and being there for one another hopefully with time for children along the journey.

Grab A VIP Goody Bag! Bride & Groom Direct At The National Wedding Show

October 4th, 2011 | Julia Braime

.

So, this Saturday coming I’d scheduled into my bulging pink Filofax a cheeky – and much needed – day off.  No exhibiting, no freelance writing, no nothing (although I’ll be blogging as usual).  A day full of possibilities, of lie ins, of freedom…

.

So what do the fates go and do… oh yeah,

.

The National Wedding Show

.

So, this Saturday, on my day off, I’ll be jumping into my trusty Brides Up North mobile and high tailing it to Brummie central, to walk the floor, explore, greet old friends, meet new ones, hob nob with my Featured Suppliers, pop in to see the lovely Charlotte from Rock My Wedding on her stand, chat to the I Am Staggered boys on theirs, check out the trends, blag some freebies and generally immerse myself in wedding loveliness.  After two (wonderful but tiring) weekends spent exhibiting as a guest of The UK Wedding Shows myself, the pressure is off and the foraging for inspiration is ON!  Oh yes.  And…you can be rest assured that I’ll share my favourite findings with you lot too.  Roll on Saturday.  I’m almost looking forward to the three hour drive… I said almost.

.

Bride & Groom Direct will be at Stand 13 in Hall 4, and will be bringing along some very special golden goody bags (I like the sound of those!) for Brides Up North readers only.  Tell them why you love my little wedding blog, and the booty is yours!  Don’t be shy.  You could be walking away with goodies like make-up, a disposable camera, chocolates, money off vouchers and some other surprises.

.

As if they are not spoiling us enough, Bride & Groom Direct are also launching a very special Wedding Treasure Hunt at The National Wedding Show – and the victor takes away £2,000 to spend on their dream wedding dress.

.

Every Monday, for the next five weeks, Bride & Groom Direct will be hiding something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and something for you on different pages on their website. All you have to do is find the treasure.

.

The hunt begins on Monday, so get ready to rummage!

Pick A Card, Any Card! Supplier Showcase: Bride and Groom Direct Wedding Stationery

September 21st, 2011 | Julia Braime

.

So, my lovely brides to be!  How is that wedding to-do list coming along?  If you need quality stationery and quick, this wedding blog Featured Supplier might be just what you are looking for!  This afternoon I chat to online wedding stationery retailer Bride and Groom about their personalised and affordable product ranges.  As well as showcasing what they can do, they also have a few handy tips up their sleeve.

.

Very clever.

.

.

Brides Up North Wedding Blog: Bride and Groom Direct

.

.

What is the story behind Bride and Groom?

.

We started trading online in 2003. Prior to that, we were mostly an agent-represented company, meaning we would sell directly to retailers and they would sell to consumers. However, we recognized the opportunities that the online environment had to offer and began trading online. Bride and Groom is an umbrella brand of CCA Occasions, which have been producing personalised stationery for over 100 years! So we certainly have a level of expertise when it comes to printing.  In 2006, CCA Occasions was bought by an American company, The Taylor Corporation, who are the biggest producer of personalised wedding stationery in the world.  You are in good hands!

.

.

What wedding stationery products do Bride and Groom stock?

.

Bride and Groom stocks beautiful ranges of Wedding invitations, Save the Dates, RSVPs, Order of Service, Thank You cards and Menus.  There is a wide range to suit all tastes and budgets, from exquisitely finished cards adorned with delicate ribbons, to a range of cards that can be personalised at home.  Bride and Groom have designs for traditional weddings, contemporary weddings, or getting married abroad.

.

.

What wedding accessories do Bride and Groom stock?

.

Everything for the ceremony, including: ring bearing cushions, order of service cards, flower girl baskets and confetti.

.

Everything for the celebration, including: personalised serviettes, favour boxes, cake boxes, cake knives, table plans and place cards, and gifts for the guests, bridesmaids, best man and ushers.

.

.

Do you have any new stationery designs/products for Autumn/Winter 2011?

.

We have recently launched a new website and, to celebrate this, we have also launched a new range of stationery, which features chic and contemporary designs.

.

Additionally, we are now stocking Mandalay Design Your Own ranges, which include everything you need to make your own stationery. So you can create your own designers invitations, at a fraction of the price, in the comfort of your own home.

.

And, finally, we have also launched our Peartree collection, which includes gorgeous modern designs that can be personalised to suit your wedding and theme.

.

.

Brides Up North Wedding Blog: Bride and Groom Direct

.

.

Can you do bespoke designs?

.

All invitations can be personalised online using our new personalisation technology. You can choose from Bride and Groom’s wordings and fonts, or use your own wording, fonts and colours.

.

.

What products are available in each design?

.

Save the dates, evening invitations, reply cards, thank you cards and everything else in-between are available in every design range – so you can have everything matching.

.

.

Who would be Bride and Groom‘s dream client, and what sort of design would you envisage for them?

.

A bride who is passionate about her wedding, who cares about the quality of her invitations and wants to personalise her big day from save the dates through to the ceremony and celebration. We would create a contemporary design, that reflects the couple’s love for another and will be immediately recognized as being sent from them by friends and family.

.

.

What would be your top five tips for Brides Up North when choosing their wedding stationery?

.

1) Decide on style of wedding and chose wedding stationery accordingly.

.

2) Do you want to colour theme your stationery to the wedding?

.

3) Order a sample of the product to check the quality and finish.

.

4) Decide on the wording that you would like in the invitation – remember weddings are personal to you and your partner, so you don’t always have to follow etiquette wording. Instead use something that shows the personality of your relationships.

.

5) Make sure you order the invitations in enough time to send out to your guests, and give them enough time to reply. Sending a matching RSVP card with your invitation makes it easy for your guests.

.

.

Brides Up North Wedding Blog: Bride and Groom Direct

.

.

What would be your absolute ‘no nos’ for Brides Up North when choosing their wedding stationery?

.

Don’t make you invitations completely from scratch at home. This can be extremely time consuming and with finding a venue, choosing your dress, planning your menu and everything else, that extra time could make all the difference. Instead, if you do want to make invitations at home, try a make your own range, that way everything is cut out for you and ready to put in place, taking you less time and still giving you that home made look and feel.

.

.

Does all the stationery have to match?

.

That’s individual to each bride. Some brides want all their stationery matching from their day invitation right through to their thank you cards. But many brides like lots of different styles and designs of stationery and don’t want to limit themselves to one design. We have options to suit both.

.

.

What are your prices and are you doing any special offers?

.

Our prices start from around £36 for 50 invitations to £87 for 50 invitations – depending on the style and quality you want. So there’s something for every budget.

.

We have special offers all the time, which can be found on the website. Currently we have a special offer of free guest book for orders over £125.

.

Additionally, we also give discount codes in the Bride and Groom Brochure and also insert codes into Brides Magazine and Wedding Magazine – so keep a look out for these.

.

.

Brides Up North Wedding Blog: Bride and Groom Direct

.

.

Which of your ranges would you recommend for a bride on a budget?

.

Our new ranges of pockets invitations include the RSVP in the design.  Seal and send invitations are also very good value at £35 for 50, which includes the wedding invitation and the RSVP card.

.

.

What sets Bride and Groom apart from its competitors?

.

Quality, service, range of product, we have a team of wedding advisers who are always happy to help the bride to give them a personal touch.  See for yourself on trust pilot. Our current score is 8.8 and we have had 890 reviews.

.

.

How long do you take to turn around an order?

.

7-10 days

.

.

How can Brides Up North get in touch to discuss their requirements or place an order?

.

Most orders are taken through our website: www.brideandgroomdirect.co.uk which is very simple and easy to use. You can also contact us on Facebook and Twitter or call us on 0800 316 2016 for advice and support.

.

.

Anything else we should know?

.

We run competitions on Facebook so make sure you like our page to keep up-to-date with those.
