This morning we have a wonderfully elegant wedding for you to feast your eyes on.

After a traditional church service, today’s bride and groom, Stacey and Chris, enjoyed a memorable reception at The White Hart in, complete with delicious cake and fabulous entertainment.

Highlights for us include the classic wedding transport, timeless colour scheme and both the bride and groom’s attire; with Chris sporting a super-dapper tux, and Stacey wearing a stunning satin gown by our amazing Sponsor Amanda Wyatt.

stacey says: We got engaged on Christmas Day 2014. Chris surprised me with a treasure hunt around our house. It all lead to the final clue, which was to find a teddy-bear-shaped box on top of our Christmas tree that had a diamond ring inside. When I looked up at Chris he was down on one knee asking me to marry him.

We set the date for 23 April 2016 as we wanted a spring wedding. The ceremony was at St Joseph’s in Mossley, where we live, followed by a reception at The White Hart in Lydgate. We chose the church because it’s where my family and I go and my parents got married there. We chose the reception venue because it is close to where we live, it has a good reputation and beautiful surroundings.

We didn’t have a theme to the day as such we just wanted a very classic style. We decided on a very neutral colour scheme with nude/light peach and ivory colours.

My dress was a long, ivory, satin and lace Amanda Wyatt dress from Once Upon a Bride, in Hyde. I chose it because it was everything I was looking for. It was quite a plain, classic, satin dress. It was like a two in one dress with a beautiful lace attachment that was placed on top of the dress. The bodice was lace and this trailed all the way down the back of the dress with button detail.

Chris wore a black tuxedo with a black satin trim around the lapels, a black satin bow tie and black waistcoat, all from Swarbricks in Manchester. He finished off his look with black patent shiny shoes. The groomsmen were also in black tuxedos, waistcoats and bow ties to match.

Earlier this month on the blog we brought you a gorgeous autumnal inspired shoot, and now today we’re moving on a season to bring you this whimsical winter styled shoot, from a rather special set of suppliers.

Organised by And so to Wed, a blog based in Leeds, today’s shoot is a celebration of small Northern wedding businesses, many of which hand make their items. As a blog that highly encourages the use of northern suppliers ourselves (it’s all in the name), we’re absolutely thrilled to help spread the message and share this dreamy set of images.

To introduce you to the talented collective that helped piece this pretty together, we welcome Louise Billingham of And so to Wed, to the blog.

louise says: We decided to do a winter inspired styled shoot to showcase some of the fantastic work produced by small business based in the north of the UK.

The chosen venue to provide our backdrop was (Brides Up North Featured Supplier) Tanfield House, a new wedding venue in Yorkshire that offers couples a truly unique experience, by giving them the use of the whole house to do with as they wish. Packed full of character, it provided the perfect setting.
