Today’s Real Wedding is vibrant, bright and basically beautiful in every single way. What a way to kick off the long weekend as we join Joanna and Tom for their Real Wedding in Cheshire. With images by Andy Wardle Photography.

Joanna says: We got engaged on 16th December 2011 in Paris and were married on 15th June 2012 at Adlington Hall & Hunting Lodge, Cheshire.

We chose the venue because of it’s stunning buildings and grounds. Adlington Hall is a very traditional and beautiful building and we knew immediately that we wanted to say our vows there. The Hunting Lodge is just next door and housed all of our guests perfectly. We were fortunate enough to be able to appreciate the gardens as well. It was the perfect venue.

We originally chose a “Peaches & Cream” colour scheme but our bridesmaid dresses were in more of a vibrant coral and we incorporated apricot, peach, coral and ivory colours into our flowers.

I wore a lace, vintage-style fitted wedding dress by Annasul Y from The White Closet, Didsbury.
.
I carried a bouquet of David Austin ‘Juliet’ roses, peonies and gypsohila handtied with lace and pearls. The men had David Austin roses and some eucalyptus as their buttonholes. All our flowers were by Firenza Floral Design.

We had a “Sweetie Table” that ran the length of the room in the Hunting Lodge, which included lots of homemade cakes & goodies baked by family members, old fashioned sweets and bowls of peaches & apricots to match our colour theme. It was thoroughly appreciated by our guests who tucked in right through the night.

Announcing us as “Husband & Wife” was the most amazing feeling. The speeches were fantastic too and are still being talked about!

We chose a classic three-tier fruitcake by Hilary Bennett in Glossop, Derbyshire iced in ivory and peach and decorated with flowers matching the bouquets.

Tom is in a band called ‘The Zetlands’ and they played a mixture of their own music and some covers selected by us. Lots of Elvis Presley, The Beatles, the Kinks, and general rock&roll to get everyone on the dancefloor.

Our only regret is not having a videographer, particularly for the ceremony. Andy managed to capture some fantastic shots that made up for it though, including the dance moves later on in the evening!

After the wedding we flew to Italy and spent a week relaxing in Sardinia followed by a city break in Venice.
