Purely Wedding Research, Honest! A Styled Menswear Shoot In The North East

So, fancy a bit of eye candy on a Saturday?

.

I’m off to see the latest 007 this afternoon so I’ll be getting my kicks Daniel Craig-stylee, and thought it most unfair not to leave something lovely for you ladies to gaze upon, courtesy of Brides Up North Featured Supplier Stan Seaton Photography and Darlington Weddings (pick up the latest issue to see this shoot in print along with my spread on styling a winter wedding).

.

Plus, I’ve seen first hand that Affleck & Moffat – one of my amazing exhibitors at our Brides Up North Super Showcase Grand Wedding Exhibitions – really know how to dress a gent, so they’d be worth a visit for his wedding day styling.

.

If he asks: its wedding research.  Got it?

Jane and Stan of Stan Seaton Photography say: We love photographing brides and ensuring that their wedding day photos reflect how amazingly beautiful and happy they looked and felt on their big day, but it is good to show our clients – and especially the girls – how good their grooms can look too!  When Darlington Weddings offered us the opportunity to do a featured menswear photo shoot for their latest magazine, in conjunction with Affleck & Moffat menswear, Paul David Hairdressing and Crathorne Hall Hotel, we couldn’t resist!

.

I say: Hello, boys!

It’s been a while since we delved behind the scenes here at , so I thought that a catch up post was well overdue.  There have been quite a few ‘developments’ here at Brides Up North HQ over the past few months… not least a sell out season of super successful Brides Up North wedding exhibitions, becoming the host of the inaugural North of England Wedding Awards, adding new talent to the team in the form of a brand new regular guest blogger and a full time member of support staff (hello Kate!), more fabulous Featured Suppliers joining the Northern Revolution and swelling our ranks, many meetings about brand new Brides Up North projects in 2013 and some very exciting new venues for some huge wedding shows next year.  All whilst maintaining and (I think) improving upon our daily schedule of twice a day wedding inspiration, features and a real variety of stunning Real Weddings.  Oh, and a growing baby bump

.

It’s been one helluva ride!

.

As you do, I tend to take pictures of the *fun stuff* rather than the hours days spent hunched over VAT returns, contracts and spread sheets, but that’s what a wedding blog is all about isn’t it?  The fun stuff… and as it would appear, the use of a great under eye concealer to mask all those very late nights and almost as early mornings that go into making a growing business a success.

.

I’m also pleased to report that whilst all this has been going on, our exhibition attendances and blog hits have been reaching new record highs (that’s what it’s all about after all!) and that Brides Up North is happily sitting right up there at the very top of the charts with the other top wedding blog names for Great Britain popularity rankings on Alexa.com. The Northern Revolution is in full swing!

.

When I look back at how much fun it’s been, how much this brand has achieved and where I hope I can take it in 2013, it’s all worth it!  Some exciting times are coming up…

.

I hope you enjoy this peek into my World!

The Wedding Blog In The News: Recent Press For Brides Up North

October 2nd, 2012 | Julia Braime

.

Wedding Magazine

.

.

As regular readers of Brides Up North will know, I also write on a freelance basis for many of our regional and national glossy bridal titles.

.

As the little girl who eschewed dreams of becoming a ballerina or spacewoman in favour of “Editor of Vogue” when asked what she wanted to be growing up (true story – I must have been a scary child), despite the huge success of the wedding blog and events I still get a kick from seeing my work in print.

.

So here’s what Brides Up North has been up to off-line over the past few months.  All titles are still available in stores or at a wedding event near you soon.

Wedding Magazine October November 2012

.

I love being a regular columnist for the industry bible, , and this issue it was all about that man, as I focused on glamour for your groom.  With huge thanks to Jon Swainson Photography, Peter Boyd Photography, Insight Photography, Andy Hook Photography, Phil Drinkwater Photography, Lissa Alexandra Photography, Matthew Tordoff Photography, Damian Hall Photography, India Hobson Weddings, Katy Melling Photography and David Lawson Studios for your support.

Wedding Magazine

I reprised my regular column in LovedUp Magazine with a focus on my newly engaged readers and their love stories.  With thanks to Joe Dodsworth Photography, Sarah Mason Photography, Richard Wynn Davies and India Hobson

It was all about pulling on a marabou shrug and styling your winter wedding in the latest issue of Darlington

Weddings.  With thanks to Katy Melling Photography, Stan Seaton Photography and Bluelights Photography (as always for my byline image!).

.

If that wasn’t enough time spent hunched over my laptop I also took part in a special shoot for Fabulous Magazine (yet to hit the news-stands) and put pen to paper for a few other of my favourite magazines and newspapers – watch this space.

.

You should also watch out for me in my hosting and judging capacity!  Sleep?  Whaddyamean?  As well as presenting the recent North Of England Wedding Awards in Yorkshire and the North East, I have also been invited to sit on the panels for The Wedding Industry Awards and The Wedding Ideas Awards 2013 (judging the Southern categories and categories independent to my sponsors only – no bias here, thank you very much!).  I can’t wait to explore the talent in our industry in more detail.
