Today on the blog, we’re headed to Fletcher Moss in Didsbury, to share the scenic pre-wedding shoot of newlywed couple, Lauren and Ashley.
Both wanted to avoid anxieties about having their photograph taken on the big day itself, and so a relaxed engagement session was the order of the day. These stunning pictures don’t betray any nerves, though – just a beautiful, coy intimacy between two people madly in love.
We particularly love the muted autumnal palette of woodland greens and browns and the way Amy has created ‘couple interrupted’ shots as they embrace and whisper to each other. Tender, loving, perfect.

lauren says: We got engaged in November 2014. We were going on a family break to Windermere in the Lake District. Suddenly more and more family members were booking lodges at the site and I was none the wiser. Little did I know that everyone else knew Ashley was going to propose…
After we’d arrived, Ashley wanted us to go on a boat trip alone. Still having no idea, we went. It was raining, yet Ashley wanted us to go out onto the deck. I didn’t want to get my hair wet, ha! Eventually, I followed him up the stairs and, to my surprise, Ashley got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. After I said yes (or rather, “YES!”) we went to meet the rest of the family who were all waiting with party poppers, champagne and tears. It was magical.
We originally met through mutual friends on a night out in Sale and our first date was to the cinema to watch What Happens in Vegas. We got on really well.
The moment Ashley first told me he loved me I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and never let him go. We got married at Etrop Grange on 20th January 2017.
What’s special about our relationship is the fact we’re best friends. No one can make us laugh the way we laugh with each other. We can be completely ourselves around each other and never feel silly. We bring out the best in each other and, when we’re in each other’s company, we’re constantly smiling.

Taking place in the Huddersfield village of Slaithwaite – the area where this lovely couple are to set up their first home together – photographer Anna Wood, has captured the pair at their most relaxed. Cue cuddles in the coffee shop and kisses by the canal…

lisa says: We got engaged under that famous tree on Hadrian’s Wall. It was a wet, windy and very long walk but Dom insisted we keep going. Each time I suggested turning back and he said, “We just need to go a bit further” – my suspicions grew!
Our wedding is set for May, with a ceremony at Gledholt Methodist Church, Huddersfield, followed by a reception at the nearby Ukrainian Club.
We first met each other at Explorers Camp, a youth camp we continue to volunteer at each summer. The marquee we use at the camp in Ripon, will even be part of our wedding day!
For our first date, we went to one of our favourite places; Bolton Abbey in North Yorkshire. Dom is a bit of a history geek and Abbeys are to him, what tea is to me. Dom is a great encourager, always building me up. He makes me laugh and keeps me young – a full time occupation considering my love of sewing, tea and a good murder mystery.

Meet Ashleigh and Josh – the stars of this wonderful wintry engagement shoot that we’re sharing on the blog this afternoon.
Dressed in cosy jumpers, hats and jackets, with cups of coffee in hand, this is one of the most laid-back shoots we’ve seen. Completely at ease in front of the camera – and braving the natural elements in an outdoors park in Burnley – Ashleigh and Josh look 100% loved up!
Ashleigh tells us more about their nine-year relationship and why, for her, it’s all about the butterflies…

ashleigh says: Josh proposed to me on our beautiful baby girl’s christening day on 6th November 2016. He made us get up in front of everyone to ‘say thank you for coming’, but little did I know he was about to get down on one knee in front of all our family and friends. It was such a surprise, never ever did I expect it on that day, but it was so beautiful with all our nearest and dearest there to see it. I couldn’t have planned it any better myself. It was perfect; a day we will always remember for two very special reasons.
We haven’t booked our wedding yet, but we want it to be perfect so don’t want to rush into it too quickly. We are hoping to book the big day for next year, or the year after! Since we met nine years ago, we have had a lot of dates and nights away to lovely places but one of our favourite destinations is Mitton Hall. We would love to get married there. It’s such an amazing place with beautiful grounds. We just love its cosy romantic decor and feel. The log fires, grand entrance and rooms are beautiful, too, and have their own special touches. It would be the perfect place to get married, especially as it means something to us both, with lots of happy memories.
We met through my brother, as Josh was good friends with him. He wasn’t sure whether it would be a good idea at the time and my brother had the ‘if you hurt my sister’ talk with Josh. But, nine years later – here we are! Finally engaged, with our own beautiful home and amazing daughter Isla-Mae. Life is amazing.
We were very young when we went on our first date (15 and 18) so it wasn’t anything amazing, but it worked! We went to a local pub for a spot of tea. I was scared to eat in front of him in case I did something embarrassing. Luckily, nothing terrible happened.

We’re continuing the beauty on the blog today with the stunning engagement shoot and love story of soon to be husband and wife, Mikey and Catriona.
Looking like true professionals, this loved-up pair braved the cold and found an atmospheric spot up on the Pennies in Lancashire with their photographer Maddie for a set of stunning portraits that literally melt our hearts! We’re sure it will have you feeling the same way too!

catriona says: We got engaged on Easter morning. We were lying in bed and I said to Mikey “Babe, are we gonna get married?” and he said “Of course we are” then I said “Can we get married next year?” and he said “Will that make you happy?” and I said “Yep” – and that was that!
Our wedding is set for 20th May 2017, at Hardcastle Craggs, which is situated in the National Trust woodlands at Hebden Bridge.
Mikey and I met whilst we were both working at nightclubs when we were at uni, three-and-a-half-years ago.
For our first date, we went to get coffee together. I’d made Mikey some homemade brownies and he says that’s when he knew he loved me.
What I love most about Mikey is how much he cares for me – I’ve been ill recently and he’s looked after me really well. He is very unorganised though, which means I have to nag him at times.
Mikey says that what he loves most about me is that I always look out for him and have his back. He says I’m gorgeous too – but then, so is he!
What I’m looking forward to most about married life is having his surname so we feel like a complete family unit.

This afternoon on the blog we’re sharing the bright and beautiful pre-wedding shoot of soon-to-be husband and wife, Selina and Hiren.
After a romantic proposal in The Big Apple, Selina and Hiren planned an engagement party back at home to celebrate with their family and friends, and thought this would be an excellent opportunity for their pre-wedding shoot.
We love the stunning portrait images of just the two of them prior to the party but also the lively celebrations that followed.

selina says: We got engaged in New York on top of the Empire State Building on New Year’s Day. We spent the day walking through Central Park, shopping in Greenwich Village then ice skating in the evening and ending the night on top of the Empire State Building. It was a complete surprise as was the trip to New York!
We plan to marry on the 30th December 2016. Our traditional Indian wedding date is yet to be confirmed.
We first met through mutual friends at a pub. We went for some drinks and as we both felt the spark we decided to go for a meal in Preston. Looking back now we both believe it was love from the start!
I really knew Hiren was ‘the one’ when I moved away from home for work, which was only a couple of months after being together, and I counted down the days until I could see him again. I absolutely love how caring, thoughtful and wonderful Hiren is, and he’s always able to put a smile on my face.

Today on the blog we’re sharing the cool engagement shoot of newlyweds Amy and Sukh.
Captured in the Baltic Triangle District of Liverpool, we love how laidback these two high school sweethearts are in front of the camera, looking totally in loved up with even the edgy backdrop not enough to distract them from one another.
Just goes to show that teenage romances can still go the distance!

amy says: We got engaged after moving into our new house. Sukh had covered the walls of the living room in fairy lights and lit candles and we were drinking champagne. I thought it was all to celebrate moving in so I wasn’t aware of what was coming next. I walked over to the fairy lights to make sure he hadn’t damaged my new living room wall and when I turned round he was on his knee. I couldn’t believe it, I kept asking if he was serious before remembering I was supposed to say yes!
We first met in school and have been together since we were just 15-years-old.
As we were teenagers when we got together our early dates consisted of going to each other’s houses, sitting in parks and the occasional trip to the cinema. Though we were young, we fell in love with each other straight away.
