hot heels: charlotte mills 2018 collection

July 3rd, 2018 | Rachel Parry

Charlotte Mills (50)

We’re turning the temperature up a notch on this super sunny Tuesday afternoon by showcasing the gorgeous new bridal shoe designs that have just landed in the 2018 Collection from our insanely talented Sponsor Charlotte Mills.

We love to see brides reflect their personal style on their big day and the footwear is an easy element of the attire through which ladies can let their personality run free.

We’ve seen brides don ankle boots, sneakers and even wellies, but the majority choose to stick with a heel for that extra confidence, height and poker posture.

With a style, heel height and hue to suit all brides, from the traditional to the fierce, we’re sure there will be perfect pair of Charlotte Mills shoes to complete your big day look. So, let’s waste no time in handing over the blog to the creator herself to tell us more about these absolute showstoppers.

Charlotte Mills (59)

What was your inspiration behind the 2018 collection? Does it have an overall theme?

charlotte says: I wanted to create a collection that suited a range of different style types. Whether you’re a modern, traditional, retro, super glam or vintage bride. I wanted to ensure we offered styles to suit everyone as well as incorporating the Charlotte Mills aesthetic.

What new shoe styles can brides find within the 2018 collection and which stand out for you?

Our new styles for 2018 are Meghan, Farah, Esmeralda Blue, Jane, George Pearl, George Silver, Frankie, Francesca and Blossom Pearl.

One of the most exciting new styles is the Meghan shoe, which was designed in preparation for the royal wedding. We love every wedding here at Charlotte Mills, but we particularly couldn’t wait to see Meghan Markle’s bridal style. Hence the production of the limited-edition Meghan shoe. This design features a pointed toe, pearlescent leather and pearl glitter details with a block heel. Not too dissimilar from Meghan’s shoes on the day! Each pair includes a specially dated sixpence in collaboration with the Royal Mint UK for an extra special touch.

Charlotte Mills (84)

What are your main considerations when designing a new collection?

Producing fashion forward styles which are elegant and reflect the Charlotte Mills brand image. All shoes are designed with comfort in mind! Fun and girly details are key!

How would you sum up the 2018 collection in three words?

Elegant, modern and unique.

Charlotte Mills (79)

What main colours and details are featured in the latest collection?

Ivory, blue, pearlescent leather, pearl glitter details and silver art deco piping.

Which shoes style from the collection would you suggest for the daring, fashion forward bride and which for the elegant, traditional bride?

For a daring bride it would have to be Francesca, while Anastasia would be perfectly suited to more traditional weddings.

Charlotte Mills (37)

What are your top three tips for picking the right wedding shoes?

Stick with a heel height that you’re used to; pick something you can wear again so you can re-live your special day all over again and break them in ahead of the big day

What bridal fashion trends are you enjoying right now, and can you predict any big trends to come?

It’s all been about the royal wedding, and I expect a lot of brides will want to mirror Meghan’s look for their own big days to come.

Sparkly Shoes & British Blooms: A Real Wedding At Fountains Abbey In Yorkshire – Kairon & Trevor

September 3rd, 2012 | Julia Braime

.

It’s Monday.  It’s a five day week.  Bah.

.

I’m currently in recovery from a fabulous Brides Up North Wedding Exclusive at Nostell Priory – what a way to kick off the Autumn calendar!  Huge thanks to the fabulous Dine Services, the extended Brides Up North team, my amazing exhibitors and all the lovely brides and their guests who came out in absolute force to support the event.  What a brilliant day! (I love you all).

.

For those of you who are feeling just as tired as I am, I thought I’d lift the Monday blues with another elegant Real Wedding instalment, again using a royal blue colour scheme but with a different feel from our stunning sapphire toned wedding this morning. I really love that no two weddings are alike!  This time we are in Yorkshire at gorgeous Fountains Abbey, with images from JB Creatives and words by real bride Kairon.

.

And as an aside, how much do you love Kairon’s sparkly shoes?  I like them a lot.

Kairon says: Trevor proposed in February 2011 at home in the kitchen one evening and we were married on 1st June 2012 at Fountains Hall, Fountains Abbey, Ripon.

We wanted something that was a heritage site and we visited it with my family and had a great day out and decided there and then that we wanted to get married there. The atmosphere of the Hall and grounds was everything that we wanted. A traditional setting but so that we could skip the other wedding traditions and make the day our own.  We chose to have an elegant day with a royal blue colour scheme.

I wore a silk backless dress with a small flowing train and diamond details on the bust, lower back and front of dress. It went brilliantly with my sparkly shoes! I fell in love with my dress as soon as i saw it in The Bridal House in Leeds.  I initially saw a picture of it on a model on the wall in the shop and myself, my sister aka my maid of honour and general personal assistant and my mum all said the same thing “That would look lovely on you” and fortunately they had it in the shop.

.

We found Debonnesse online and she did my hair perfectly! My sister did the make up for everyone after we had all had make up lessons at MAC at Harvey Nichols.

My maid of Honour and my bridesmaid were my sister and our cousin. They are both very different in looks and personality so I wanted something that they would both like and maybe wear again.  I really wanted them to wear something from Coast as I think the quality of their dresses are great. Fortunately we found a dress that was similar but came in different lengths to make them different from each other and the royal blue colour looked great with both their complexions.

.

The groom hired a suit from in Rodley which was recommended by one of his best friends. His best man wore a suit from his own eclectic collection.

The flowers were from The Greenhouse Florist in Ripon and Amy did exactly what we wanted and managed this despite us being vague about what flowers we wanted. She kept them British and the colours that we specified.

.

I carried a draping bouquet of royal blue delphiniums and white peonies with other traditional British flowers. The bridesmaids also had the same but small bouquets with no delphiums. The blue of the delphiniums really stood out against my white dress.

Our drinks reception was the most relaxing and social part of the day and I remember everyone smiling so much.

We had a lovely lady make our cake which was chocolate and Victoria sponge and covered in royal blue icing with some delicate touches. I would recommend Sugar Crafted Cakes.

We had Gin and Tonic and chocolate truffles as favours in miniature glasses and boxes with “drink me” and “eat me” on little labels very like Alice in Wonderland.

.

.

A company called Taste Cuisine catered the drinks reception which was amazing and National Trust catered a BBQ for the evening reception which was also amazing, lots of yummy food to go round for all.

.

We had classical music playing during the wedding breakfast and a DJ at the evening reception.  Our DJ was a guy called Rob from BGN Events who was very accommodating to our different tastes. The groom is very much into punk and I prefer pop and current music. He managed to get all our requests on and mix the music well to suit all the guests.

We went to Whitby for a few days after the wedding and we are going to Florence in Italy in May.

My top tip for other Brides Up North would be to not over plan things and enjoy the day.  If the little things don’t go right it doesn’t matter as what matters is that you are spending the rest of your life with your soul mate.

.

.

Congratulations Kairon & Trevor!

.

.

JB Creatives would like me to let you know that she is currently offering a FREE engagement shoot for couples that book their wedding photography with her before the 14th September 2012.
