It’s styled shoot time once again on the blog, and today we’re sharing the second installment of a dreamy two-day winter wedding shoot captured in West Yorkshire. I think we all need a little winter hygge about now.

Last month we shared the results of day one, which was winter hygge to a tee, with beautifully relaxed florals, rustic styling and soft, cosy knits. The second part of the shoot features a similar whimsical feel, but with injections of bold berry tones in rich purples, crimson reds and dusky pinks.

The beautiful blooms, which include Roses, Lisianthus, Skimmia, Waxflower and Ranunculus, have once again been put together by talented florist Susan Dobson of The Yorkshire Dales Flower Company, and this time it’s her garage that provides an ideal blank canvas setting.

To achieve the desired effect, the bare space was styled with rustic furniture and accessories while the bridal look was created with stunning gowns provided by Amelia’s of Skipton, chunky designer knitwear from Just Unwind, and a pair of vibrant Hunter wellies.

As a trained beauty therapist and owner of Beauty by Hannah, the model did her own makeup and Skipton-based stylist Ella Beau created the beautiful bridal hair dos.

If the last day of the working week feels a little unbearable, we have something super-gorgeous to distract you from your ‘to-do’ list and help transport you to a world a beautiful bridal inspiration!

This stunning styled shoot, captured by West Yorkshire based photographer Mya of Silvery Moon Photography, is winter hygge to a tee, with beautifully relaxed florals, rustic styling and soft, cosy knits.

And if you like what you see, you’ll be pleased to hear that there’s a second installment of this shoot coming up on the blog next month, which features dreamy berry tones, so be sure to look out for that.

Now though we’ll hand over the blog to the lovely Mya to explain where the inspiration from the shoot came from and who she worked with to achieve these gorgeous shots.

mya says: The instigator of the shoot was Susan Dobson of The Yorkshire Dales Flower Company, who I have worked with previously on styled shoots and weddings. Susan works from her beautiful home in Bradley near Skipton, and we decided that it would make the perfect location for the styled shoot that we had planned.

Her inspiration for the flowers was to have a silvery winter look using roses, ranunculus and anemones. She also used lots of silvery foliage and pinecones.

We were hoping for sparkling frosty weather to show off Susan’s creations, but what we actually got was a constant heavy downpour of freezing rain and grey skies! Nevertheless, I approached the shoot as I would a real wedding in so much as you can never guarantee the weather in the UK so you make the most of what you have.

I’m always keen to get hands on with styled shoots, having started my career in photography as a commercial set stylist in Leeds several years ago. I absolutely loved styling this shoot and amazingly all the additional props we needed were found in Susan’s garden and home. It’s literally a stylist’s dream, with silver milk churns, terracotta pots, fir cones and windfall apples that I used on day one, all right there! The green wellies that our model wore were even Susan’s own!

Our beautiful model, who braved the cold, was local girl, Francesca. As a budding makeup artist, Francesca did her own hair and makeup for the shoot and looked flawless.
