My recovery rate isn’t what it used to be. It’s taken me the best part of a week to shake off the fug following a frightfully good night at our first ever #WeddingHourLive.
Lisa of The Wedding Affair and I have been wanting to collaborate for a while – and we wanted to do it in style – so we decided to get together to bring the wedding industry’s Twitter feed to life for a spooky Halloween soiree. This was an entirely not for profit event, and our way of saying thank you to an industry that is so supportive of our businesses. Plus, being in the events game, we like to show off what we can do!
And what a night it was.
Whenever you throw a party, there’s always that 12 year old girl inside shrieking “Oh my god! Will anyone come?! Does anyone like me?! Will there be enough cake?! Will people dress up?!”. The party bags were packed, but we needed a crowd.
We weren’t disappointed!
They came. They costumed (beyond all expectation). They cocktailed. They casino’ed. And they teared up the dance floor.
We really do love you all. A huge thank you for your amazing support and making this event so much fun. Thanks-not-so-much for the week long hangover.
If you follow this blog on Facebook and Twitter (ahem!) then you’ll have already seen some candid and photo booth shots from the night (thank you Peter and Susie at Booth Revolution), but here’s a first look at what went down from behind our roving photographers’ lenses. There’s more to come… no one’s safe (!)… but here are a few of our favourites so far!
If not – and especially if you follow the blog over on Twitter and Facebook – you’ll probably have guessed that I am just a little bit excited about our newest SUPER show on the block, theBrides Up North Bridal Bonanza Grand Wedding Exhibition at the gorgeous 4* Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield, County Durham.
We are very proud to run OFFICIALLY the largest and most exciting FREE ENTRY bridal exhibitions in the North East (our last epic event at Hardwick’s sister hotel, Ramside Hall, attracted over 2,000 visitors in one afternoon – now that’s big!) with two specially choreographed professional fashion shows and almost (and sometimes over) 100 exhibitors at each, tempting on the day discounts and stuffed goody bags tailor made for each event. I might like things big and exciting, but I also like them personal.
And yes, you read that right, the events are FREE ENTRY. Cos I love ya, baby.
So, get the first of our huge North East events firmly in the diary (in indelible pen please) and come along to support the most fabulous wedding suppliers in your area – I only work with the best, dahlings – for an inspiration packed afternoon of all that is pretty, new and super gorgeous in the wedding industry. And the most important bit? Local to YOU.
