The stunning styled shoot that’s gracing our pretty pages this morning was the brainchild of Andrea Matthews, who runs planning, design and styling business, Moxie Events. Keen to showcase those very ‘of the moment’ rustic vibes with an all-important luxe twist – Andrea teamed up with a creative cohort of wedding suppliers to bring her fabulous vision to life.

Showcasing a brand new East Yorkshire venue – The Barn at Willerby – the shoot brings together a glowing palette of golds and ombres, all beautifully offset by wild blooms and foliage for a more contemporary feel. And just wait until you see the triangle arch!

We’re always drawn to plates of deliciousness and this shoot more than delivers on the foodie front! The cake is a pared back and minimal creation in keeping with the theme, with the catering bringing together simple ingredients with a fine dining edge. Definitely teetering more towards the luxe end of the spectrum, and we’re not complaining.

It’s not all about the venue and décor though – we think you’ll be crushing on the bride and groom’s attire too. Say hello to a simple, elegant Sottero and Midgley gown complete with opal beads and lace, and one of our favourite fabrics for the beau – classic tweed.

We think it’s about time we hand the blog over to Andrea though to chat through the shoot and all those finer details. An inspiration overload is most certainly coming your way!

andrea says: A desire to bring together luxury and rustic styling elements was the inspiration behind this shoot. I’m a big fan of the rustic look, however, I wanted to mix it up and add luxe vibes showing that – curated well – this is a beautiful choice for a wedding.

The photoshoot and its results were down to the bunch of super talented suppliers I worked with. Everyone understood the brief perfectly, shared the vision and executed their work amazingly.

The Barn At Willerby is a brand new venue in East Yorkshire, close to the market town of Beverley, offering space for weddings, parties and corporate events. I approached Debbie Leak – the owner, who is running the venue with her daughter Olivia – back in January and following an initial visit (when a lot of the work had only just started) I asked if she would like me to organise a styled shoot there.

It was clear to me that this was going to be a very modern barn with a luxury feel and that the rustic luxe theme would fit perfectly.

Bloom & Bridal’s triangle ceremony arch was certainly a focal point of the shoot. The arch had purposely been kept in its raw form to complement the natural garden inspired arrangements. Each group of flowers was designed to create individual zones, with a natural feel and plenty of movement and space.

Sisters Jennie and Jo, who run the florists, opted for an ombre look for the bouquet and table flowers. A limited palette was chosen to give a more modern look with the use of anthurium among the garden flowers, which is a very strong look right now.

A mix of gold and glass, high and low, table decorations and accessories were chosen to complement the tones of the flowers and to tie in with the luxury feel of this photo shoot, with beautiful stationery supplied by Samantha Cutting of Paper Cutt.
