I’m extremely excited to be reprising my role as official blogger for The North West Wedding Fair for the fifth time this spring!
Whilst our own events are bespoke, exclusive and perfectly formed (…are they in your diaries yet !?), The North West Wedding Fair is the largest premium show for brides from the North West and I love that every one of their Exhibitors and Partners are dedicated to serving the North West region. Isn’t that what Brides Up North encourages: thinking local?
Our position as one of the top wedding blogs in the UK – and the only one specifically for Northern Brides – is extremely valuable, so alliances like this one need to be right for us. It is Mercury Events’ excellent reputation in the market that gave me the confidence to join up with The North West Wedding Fair in spring 2014, and I‘m happy to report that it was the start of a beautiful friendship.
As well as hosting my own features over on the show’s official blog, I’ll also be on site at the event, tweeting, facebooking and instagramming like mad (from a front row seat on their designer catwalk no less), trying to meet as many of you lovely brides to be as possible and also putting my judging hat on to award the “best in show” exhibitor prize.
The show brings you the finest collection of over 180 wedding suppliers and experts from your area. Try, buy, book and hire all you need for your perfect day. Every detail is covered; from venues to favours, transport to catering, stationery to cakes, and much more. There are also free expert workshops and live entertainment acts.
Eight stylish Catwalk Shows take place throughout each day of the show, showing a hand-picked selection of dresses in their very best light and keeping brides-to-be up to date on the latest trends.
Plus all of the show’s regular features return, including The Vintage Village and the live Entertainment Stage, where you can hold your own auditions for your big day’s entertainment.
My top picks for any bride’s visit include:
Go VIP for an extra special girl’s day out. For the ultimate in wedding show experiences, treat yourself to a day out to remember. Enjoy FastTrack entry to the show and make your way to the You & Your Wedding VIP lounge for some all-day pampering. Pick up your bridal beauty tote from Benefit Cosmetics, sip on some bubbly and then make your way to your reserved seating at the popular catwalk shows.
VIP tickets include FastTrack entry, access to the VIP lounge & dedicated Prosecco Bar, Benefit Bridal Beauty Tote Bag, glass of bubbly, Benefit makeup masterclasses and reserved catwalk seating.
Save 1/3 on standard tickets by quoting the code LN70 when booking.
Standard Adult tickets £15 each (£10 with 1/3 off). VIP ticket £25 and not included in 1/3 off offer. Booking fees apply. 1/3 offer closes at midnight on 11th March 2016.

Made you look? Don’t worry, Brides Up North isn’t going anywhere!
If you’re a regular reader of the wedding blog, you’ll know that I recently took on a special assignment as Official Blogger to the North West Wedding Fair.
We run our own beautifully crafted Brides Up North Luxury Wedding Exhibitions in the Cheshire area – yes, these ones… do you have them in your diaries yet (you can pre-register for your VIP goody bag here)?
But when Mercury Events invited me along to their huge event at the start of March, I wasn’t going to turn down an opportunity to meet so many lovely North West readers and wedding industry suppliers, or get my brand in front of so many new brides to be either (crafty eh?). If – as a consequence – you are one of my brand new readers, HELLO you!
In the run up to the show I guest blogged over at their website once a week (catch up on what I was talking about here), and shouted about the upcoming event on the Brides Up North Facebook and Twitter pages. I also hosted a very special Pinterest competition in conjunction with the North West Wedding Fair, which will see me lend my industry knowledge and sympathetic wedding planning ear to our lucky winner, Steph, who I was thrilled to meet for an initial chat at the event itself.
So, talking of the event, how was it? Were you a visiting bride to be or an exhibitor? What did you think?
Me? I loved every minute: hosting the show’s visitor video (scrambling up onto the raised catwalk in my 4 inch heels and pink mini dress to film a segment must have been a sight to see!); catching up with my industry friends; sitting FROW at the beautiful bridal catwalks; tasting cake; trying on tiaras;getting excited over glittery things; trying a spot of crafting, and meeting so many lovely, lovely brides to be and their future husbands, friends and families.
The highlight for me? Meeting my Pinterest competition winner Steph and her lovely Mum, and hearing all about her nautical themed wedding plans. Steph’s winning entry stood out for it’s originality, but also because despite being heavily themed, it was also very beautiful. I’m looking forward to helping Steph out on her journey to “I do!”.
Official feedback from the Mercury Events office looked good too, with over 2,000 brides and 6,000 visitors through the doors and 122 exhibitors already rebooking for next season.
Mercury Events continue to invest heavily in establishing this show as a true ‘destination’ event for the whole wedding market across Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire. This season they added the Garden Restaurant, the Vintage Crafts feature, Inspired Bakes: A Wedding Cake Showcase, an improved Catwalk build and show and a more fabulous VIP ticket package than ever before. I can’t wait to work with the team again going forwards. Just watch this space for more details soon…

I’ve some very exciting news to impart this Monday afternoon folks! And I’ve been dying to tell you about it for weeks! You see, I’m not very good at keeping massive secrets…
A while back, I was approached by the organisers of the ma-hoo-sive North West Wedding Fair and invited act as their “Official Blogger”. Quite the compliment! Now, you know that we run our own Luxury Wedding Exhibitions here at Brides Up North – including two very special events in the North West this spring – so at first I wasn’t sure… partner with the competition? Hmm.
But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. The North West Wedding Fair is this season’s largest premium show for brides from the North West. Visitors love that every one of their Exhibitors and Partners are dedicated to serving the North West region. Isn’t that what Brides Up North encourages: thinking local? Also, whilst our events are bespoke, exclusive (and perfectly formed… are they in your diaries yet?) I wouldn’t want my North West readers to miss out on the biggest juggernaut of a bridal event to come your way this season either. There’s plenty of room in the diary for us both.
So I asked around, and it turns out that my fellow industry professionals and you beautiful brides to be rate this event too. So, I thought to myself cunningly, what better way to get my brand in front of thousands more Brides Up North and fuel this Northern Revolution even further?
Our position as one of the top wedding blogs in the UK – and the only one specifically for Northern Brides – is extremely valuable, so alliances like this one need to be right for us. It is Mercury Events’ excellent reputation in the market that gave me the confidence to join up with The North West Wedding Fair.
Plus, I get to ponce around on camera as I host the show’s official preview video, live from site (err… nervous, me?) Sold. I’m looking forward to contributing to a great show!
Turns out that it’s going to be a bit of a love-in all round! Mercury Events, who host the fair, said some verrrry nice things about Brides Up North too, in an “official release” that went out to special press and partners last week: “This fantastic new partnership with Brides Up North reflects our focus on delivering shows to the market which are high on quality content specific to the regions they serve. Brides Up North… is established as an essential resource for brides and grooms planning their wedding in the north of England. Julia’s vast experience and indispensable creative advice and tips will add tremendous value to our overall show offer.”
So watch this space – and the show’s official blog, where I’ll be posting all that indispensable creative advice they talk about about above, as well as exciting updates, exclusive competitions and insider info – for more updates soon, but for now, all you need to do is mark this in your diaries:
Oh, and you might just want to enter MW61 at the ticket checkout to save 1/3 off usual prices. Just ‘cos I love ya baby!
I can’t wait to get the party started!
