Do you follow Brides Up North on Twitter or like our pretty Facebook page? If you do (and if you don’t, click the links to get that sorted) then you’ll have seen some sneak peeks from the brilliant night we had at our recent wedding industry networking party #WeddingHourLive, which we co-hosted with our friends at The Wedding Affair. If you didn’t get your ticket in time, make sure to keep watching these pages (or those social media feeds) for details of our next big event.
If you came along to help to bring our Twitter feed to life this Halloween, then another huge thank you for your support. Unfortunately, this is how I choose to repay you.
Did you consume enough candy/ cocktails* or disguise yourself adequately enough to feel confident stepping into our photo booth courtesy of the fabulous Booth Revolution? If you think you did, you might like to look away now. It isn’t very pretty…

Trick or Treat?! There are some absolute crackers here.

Someone might have had a few cocktails when it came to interview time! Ahem.
If you missed the photos from the event click here to catch up… and watch out for some (really quite terrifying) photo booth images on these pages very soon.
Huge, huge thanks to everyone who supported our event. What a blast! Let’s do it all again soon…

My recovery rate isn’t what it used to be. It’s taken me the best part of a week to shake off the fug following a frightfully good night at our first ever #WeddingHourLive.
Lisa of The Wedding Affair and I have been wanting to collaborate for a while – and we wanted to do it in style – so we decided to get together to bring the wedding industry’s Twitter feed to life for a spooky Halloween soiree. This was an entirely not for profit event, and our way of saying thank you to an industry that is so supportive of our businesses. Plus, being in the events game, we like to show off what we can do!
And what a night it was.
Whenever you throw a party, there’s always that 12 year old girl inside shrieking “Oh my god! Will anyone come?! Does anyone like me?! Will there be enough cake?! Will people dress up?!”. The party bags were packed, but we needed a crowd.
We weren’t disappointed!
They came. They costumed (beyond all expectation). They cocktailed. They casino’ed. And they teared up the dance floor.
We really do love you all. A huge thank you for your amazing support and making this event so much fun. Thanks-not-so-much for the week long hangover.
If you follow this blog on Facebook and Twitter (ahem!) then you’ll have already seen some candid and photo booth shots from the night (thank you Peter and Susie at Booth Revolution), but here’s a first look at what went down from behind our roving photographers’ lenses. There’s more to come… no one’s safe (!)… but here are a few of our favourites so far!

Watch this space for more updates and maybe, just maybe, news of another event soon…
Big love to our team of supporters, without whom this event would have been absolutely rubbish:
Zoe and The Cedar Court Hotel
Lucy of Lucy MacNicoll Flowers
Phil & Jennie from Phil Lyons & The Swingettes
Susie from Booth Revolution
Mike & Michelle from MissDeal Fun Casino
Mark Waddington Yorkshire Wedding Magician
Sarah from Cake!
Ryan from Mulhern Media
Peter & Kelly from Peter Boyd Photography
Jo from Sprae PR
Alex & Lisa of 2 People 1 Life, for their help in stuffing 150 goody bags (honestly, I’d still be there now!)

If you follow the blog on Twitter and Facebook you’ll know that last night’s #weddinghourlive was an absolute smash! Photographs are beginning to surface, and they’re confirming that today’s headache is well deserved.
Normal blog scheduling will resume tomorrow.

It’s here, it’s here, it’s here! Can I hear a whoop whoop?
I’ve given myself a glamorous ghoul-over and I’m ready to get spooky with our industry guests at this evening’s #weddinghourlive Halloween networking party (the ultimate wedding industry networking party, don’t you know!), which I’m hosting with my friend and colleague Lisa at The Wedding Affair.
We’re at the venue all day today, making things frighteningly fabulous, and will be tweeting live from the event from 7pm tonight.
If you couldn’t make it (or get a ticket – our guest list is at bursting!) then you can still join the fun by adding a #weddinghourlive hashtag to your tweets this evening on Twitter during ‘#weddinghour from 9pm.
And why not follow Brides Up North while you’re at it? You’ll be in good company, over 15,700 people who know where it’s at already do.
Tweet you later, alligator.

One week to go. Fancy dress (sort of) sorted. Bar stocked. Guest list heaving.
If you’ve been reading the wedding blog for a while, you’ll know that Brides Up North are well known for our Tweet Ups and networking parties, hosted by us for the wedding industry as a way to further the Northern Revolution that is going on on these pretty pages and as a thank you to our supplier friends for their support. Click here to read more about previous events and the ethos behind them.
This Autumn, I decided that it was time to get the party re-started (due to my recent little arrival we haven’t had a gathering since our super Christmassy party at Thorp Perrow in December last year) with a very special event indeed. Joining forces with Lisa of The Wedding Affair, we are thrilled to bring you #WEDDINGHOURLIVE – bringing your Twitter feed to life this Halloween and creating the ultimate wedding industry networking party!
It’s going to be so. much. fun.
So, if you are a Northern wedding industry supplier – you need to be there! Or maybe you’re bride reader who fancies coming along to a bit of a knees up? Get involved! Don’t be shy, everyone is super friendly, and this is a great way to break the ice and make connections with your fellow industry specialists/ future suppliers. There’s the option to bring a friend (or two) too if you prefer safety in numbers.
There’ll be apple bobbing, hauntingly good nibbles and cocktails, and lots of spooky surprises. We would love to see you, dressed in your frightful fancy dressed best – if you dare!
And what am I going as? Currently it looks like a sort of Topshop fuelled, glamorous vampire… a “glampire”? Do those exist? Come to think of it… do vampires?
