The sunnier climes of recent weeks has got us in the perfect mood for today’s spring wedding styled shoot, set against the glorious backdrop of the Blagdon Estate in Northumberland and featuring some of the gorgeous suppliers that we were lucky enough to work with yesterday at our beautiful Alnwick Garden Luxury Bridal Show.

There’s a whimsical quality to this romantic shoot and, dare we say it, even a subtle wild streak thanks to the beautiful pared back blooms and atmospheric woodland setting. And for the bride who is looking for something altogether quirky for her special day, prepare to be inspired by the most captivating blue-hued gown.

Photographer Zoe Emilie shares all the behind the scenes highlights…

zoe emilie says: In the quieter months, out of the peak wedding season, we like to create something with a bit of flair, to help promote the talented local wedding suppliers here in the North East – of which there are many. A shoot such as this is also a great opportunity to add something a little bit extra special to our portfolios where we can really show our skills off to maximum effect.

When arranging the shoot, we agreed that the beautiful new wedding venue The Grange (Shotton Grange Weddings) would be the perfect backdrop with its stunning walled garden and woodland.

We settled on a spring look, which was perfect for the time of year, but unfortunately the weather was anything but spring-like on the day of the shoot. We contended with heavy rain and freezing temperatures but as our hairstylist Tina Elliott said “we proved our true northern spirit” and still delivered the shoot – the results where amazing considering how wet it was on the day.

One of my favourite looks from this shoot has to be the gorgeous blue dress with mini gold crown, both designed by Kathryn Russell. It’s such an alternative and beautiful look and when paired with Thoughts Of You Flowers’ stunning florals this look is just to die for. I so wanted a blue dress for my wedding – I wished I’d known Kathryn back when I got married!

Sports & Sweeties! A Styled Wedding Inspiration Shoot In The North East

May 29th, 2012 | Julia Braime

.

This morning I was up with the lark and off in the motor to assist on a shoot at a very exciting private new wedding venue that I am thrilled to be working with shortly.  I’ll be back soon to share some gorgeous images and tell you more, but until then, I’ll leave you with a fun and fabulous mini wedding inspiration shoot in the North East, send to me by friend of the wedding blog Kerry of Daisychain Events

Kerry says: After working on a couple of inspiration shoots with some amazing North East suppliers, I was keen to give it another go as I really enjoy the whole creative process of starting with a mood board and then developing the ideas and culminating in an amazing shoot!

This shoot was one which came about through Emma from Little Bundles Bunting when she was chatting with Shelley who is the events coordinator at Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club. The club were planning a re launch of their wedding packages and wanted to promote it to potential brides and grooms. The venue has some fab spaces and is also one of the few in the North East large enough to cater for Asian weddings which often have in excess of 200 – 300 guests.

.

The theme was a no brainer and I chose the sports and sweeties theme so that we could highlight the masculine image of the venue and the rugby element with a girlie edge.

The day of the shoot was fabulous and everyone pitched in to help with setting up shots. We even had a little helper in the form of Jamie’s two year old daughter who thoroughly enjoyed herself running around the function rooms trying to grab sweeties before eventually falling asleep!

.

We hope that by pulling together our ideas that couples can draw little snippets of inspiration for their own day.   We are now looking at doing another shoot in the near future with a completely different and altogether more theatrical theme! Watch this space!
