Whether you want to book a simple string quartet, a rocking live band or Britain’s Got Talent finalist-worthy entertainment for your wedding day, it’s helpful to know a place you can browse and book online with pro advice and tips to hand.
Our fabulous Sponsor, Warble Entertainment, offer one such easy-to-use service and have more than 1,000 acts on their books making them a must-look-up company when planning how to set your big day scene and wow your guests.
From musicians to comedians and look-a-likes to sword swallowers – you’re bound to find a fitting act when browsing their site and will have peace of mind when booking through the experienced and trusted business.
Here to tell us more about Warble Entertainment’s fabulous service and selection – and to offer our readers a 10% discount from the booking deposit when quoting “Brides Up North” – is founder Tracey Warren.
When was Warble Entertainment set up and how has it grown since that time?
tracey says: Warble was established in 2007 by myself and my husband Matt. Ten years later we have a brilliant team of 14 who are all just as dedicated and passionate about providing exciting, fun and professional entertainment for more than 6,000 weddings each year, as we are!
What does Warble Entertainment aim to bring to the wedding industry and what types of services does it offer?
Matt and I set up Warble to help couples find the perfect wedding entertainment for their big day no matter what their budget, style or theme. We wanted to make the whole process easy and enjoyable as we understand how busy couples can be and how stressful planning a wedding can get.
We literally provide any entertainment you can think of, from live bands magicians, caricaturists, string quartets, fire jugglers, walking trees, photo-booths and so much more!
In your opinion, how can live entertainment help to enhance a wedding day?
The first thing I would do is encourage couples to look at the feedback page on our website. There are literally thousands of references from genuine couples and they explain perfectly what entertainment brought to their big day. For example: “This band were one of the best things that could have happened to our wedding. They were incredible. They bought life and soul to the evening and everyone wanted the music to last forever.” Booking the right entertainment will elevate a wedding from being lovely to absolutely amazing! It can also augment and bring your chosen theme to life as well as making the day flow easier and it can take a lot of pressure off the bride and groom from having to entertain their guests.
What are the benefits of couples arranging their wedding entertainment through Warble Entertainment and how does your website help to make the process simple?
First of all we have literally thousands of acts to choose from that have all been through a vigorous vetting process so you know whatever act you book will be professional and do exactly what is expected of them. This saves the couple so much time and worry of searching and vetting acts themselves.
We make the whole process simple, easy and fun. You can enjoy browsing acts on our friendly and easy to use website and we’ll make sure all the important bits are sorted including any paperwork your venue may require such as insurance certificates etc.
We have a 24 hour emergency helpline. Acts and entertainers are only human so occasionally they may fall ill or be unable to make your wedding for some reason. If this was to happen and you booked an act direct you would most likely be left without a band or the entertainment you booked or having to spend part of your day calling round trying to find an alternative. If you book via Warble we would take any of this worry away and ensure a suitable alternative is in place – in most cases without you even noticing!
Lastly, we are experts in booking wedding entertainment and so have so much invaluable advice and tips and will be able to answer any questions you or your venue may have.
What sets you apart from other wedding entertainment companies?
Our customer service. We absolutely understand this is the biggest day of the couple’s life, that it can be stressful and it is likely to cost a lot of money, so we do everything in our power to make sure the entertainment they book from us is not only perfect for them and their big day but the whole process is fun and easy. There are never any strings attached. We are passionate about weddings and entertainment and it shines through in everything we do.
How do Warble Entertainment select the bands and acts that they represent?
We have a full artist liaison team in place who will respond to our customers’ requirements. If there is a gap in our roster they will fill it. They have a full process to vet and sign-up acts and we would never work with an act that didn’t fully meet our requirements and also share the same passion and outlook on weddings and customer service as we do.

If you’re contemplating an autumn date for your special day, then this afternoon’s real wedding will have you falling head over heels for this beautiful time of the year. Think rich jewelled tones, café au lait dahlias and a picture-perfect sunset, and you’ll get a fair idea of what to expect.
Our couple, Catherine and Frazer, tied the knot at Whirlowbrook Hall, a gorgeous manor house set within 39 acres of landscaped gardens. Plumping for a navy blue and pewter colour scheme, their elegant vintage-inspired theme works beautifully with the venue’s classic backdrop.
As you’ll see, there are so many Pinterest-worthy highlights from their special day – the stunning four-tiered cake (complete with edible sequins) is a favourite, and I just love the bride’s statement blue shoes!

catherine says: We got engaged on our seven-year anniversary, at home, on 27th December 2014, on what was a lovely crisp wintery morning. I had been dropping not so subtle hints about getting married for about a year but Frazer kept saying I’d have to wait and see as our anniversary was coming up.
The day dawned and he made me breakfast. He called me through for my sausage sandwich. I put the ketchup on and flipped the top slice of bread onto the sandwich. Neatly carved into the bread was “will you marry me?”. I think I actually said, “Oh go on then!”. Because of the snow we were unable to visit our families to share the good news for about a week!
We got married on 16th October 2016. We always knew we wanted an autumn wedding, as we love autumnal colours. Plus a sunny autumn day can be so beautiful. As it turned out, it rained heavily until about an hour before the ceremony and then stayed sunny and dry. We got some fabulous photos with the autumn sunset too.
We hosted our ceremony and reception at Whirlowbrook Hall in Sheffield. We hadn’t intended to go and see Whirlowbrook, as my sister had always wanted to get married there and I didn’t want to copy. We had gone to two wedding fairs nearby, and heard that Whirlowbrook was also holding one. We thought we’d go and see the suppliers rather than the venue, but as soon as we walked in, we knew we’d get married there! The atmosphere was so special, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the Hall and grounds are stunning. We also liked the fact that we’d get exclusive use of the venue for the day, and it was small enough to be intimate, yet still had enough space for everyone.
We didn’t have a theme as such, but we went for an autumnal vintage elegance feel. Hopefully we captured the richness of the season and matched the grandeur of the hall with classic decorations, but still managed to do things a bit differently.
We opted for a navy blue and pewter/silver colour scheme. We wanted jewel tones for that rich autumnal feel and settled on navy as a colour which would be easy to co-ordinate. We didn’t want bright silver so settled on a darker more antique silver/pewter for our metallic accents. We also incorporated cream and ivory to lighten the overall look.
I got my dress – the Alfred Angelo 216 Cinderella gown – in a sample sale. I knew I wanted a mermaid/fishtail style, but something a bit different. As soon as I put the dress on, I knew it was ‘the one’. My seamstress, Bride by Katie-Lou Designs, handmade a bolero and matched the lace to the detail on the bodice of the dress, it was perfect! I also wore a long one-tier veil.
My lovely bridesmaid Adele let me wear her antique pearl necklace as my something borrowed. Pearl is also my birthstone, which tied in nicely.
I chose bright blue Irregular Choice shoes for a pop of colour, they were fabulous and I got so many compliments.

So to get you off on the right foot, we’re today quizzing Tracey of Warble Entertainment on how to hit the right note with your band or act selection…
Tell us a little about Warble Entertainment…
tracey says: Warble Entertainment is an agency designed to make booking entertainment for your wedding fun, friendly and efficient.
It was set up nearly ten years ago by husband and wife Matt and Tracey (that’s me!) who had a passion for live music, weddings, events and entertainment. They believed there was a lack of honesty and good customer service within the entertainment agency sector at that time and wanted to produce an agency that understood the importance of a wedding and took time to care about the both the customers and the acts requirements.
Now Warble consists of a strong team of 16 who are just as passionate about the company and its core beliefs of honesty, reliability and great customer service, whilst providing the UK’s most exciting entertainment…which is exactly what wedding couples receive when they book via Warble.
What different types of entertainment do you offer?
The most exciting thing about Warble is that we can literally offer any kind of entertainment to suit any style of wedding. So whether you are looking for a traditional and romantic theme and are looking to book a harpist for your ceremony, a jazz band for your drinks reception, a magician during your wedding breakfast and a DJ for your evening reception, or, you require something a little more alternative with a vintage twist, so maybe a barbershop quartet for your ceremony, a mime artist for your drinks reception, a 1920’s jazz singer for your wedding breakfast and a full live funky swing band for your evening reception – we can bring your ideas and theme to life!
How can live entertainment help to enhance a wedding day?
Live entertainment is so important to have at weddings for so many different reasons! Here are just a few of these:
It helps bring your theme to life – as mentioned above, entertainment can augment your theme, for example if you’re having a festival theme it’s a no brainer than you’d have a fantastic headlining live band!
It helps break the ice – it’s well known that at weddings there is usually lots of different groups of people that don’t know each other and well placed and timed entertainment will help bring them all together. For example, a magician during the wedding breakfast can provide a great talking point for the table.
It fills the gaps – the best example here is the drinks reception, where the bride and groom are often busy having their professional photographs and so if you leave the guests with a caricaturist and perhaps some live music to lift the atmosphere, they’ll never know you were gone!
It makes your big day stand out from the crowd – Although your big days is obviously extremely special to you and your nearest and dearest, it is inevitable that it won’t be the only wedding many of your guests will have been to that year and so why not make sure it’s the one to remember for all the right reasons!

Either way, Brides Up North Sponsor Tracey of Warble Entertainment is taking over our pretty pages this afternoon to be your online entertainment agony aunt, remedying any last minute worries with her specialist suggestions for a really memorable day.
Will our ceremony have the WOW factor it deserves?
tracey says: Whilst reciting your vows and committing yourselves to each other forever is of course a big deal and will be a beautiful moment for you and your nearest and dearest, you may want to consider augmenting such a special moment with entertainment. A popular choice for 2016 weddings is to book a contemporary acoustic guitarist and singer to perform as you walk down the aisle, during the signing of the register and ideally, you can request a fun, upbeat song for when you and your guests leave – this will really set the tone for the rest of the day and get everyone into the party spirit.
Who will look after our guests during the drinks reception?
The drinks reception is usually when your photographer will whisk you away to get those all-important shots for the wedding album. That’s great for you guys and the wedding party, but your guests are usually left alone and very often hungry during so it’s a good idea to keep them amused. Many brides and grooms are choosing to book a caricaturist for this part of the day as not only does it provide for a great memento for your guests but it is also very entertaining for the crowd that gather to watch. Other popular choices during this time are walkabout acts such as lookalikes (imagine the surprise on your guests’ faces when David Beckham or Del Boy crashes the wedding), or living trees or statues, which create a real buzz and great photo opportunities.

This afternoon’s real wedding is all about simplicity, elegance and class!
Taking place in Manchester, Caroline and Matthew chose the city’s stunning town hall for their ceremony followed by a reception at the Radisson Blu Edwardian hotel.
Keen to stick to a simple and neutral palette, Caroline chose beautiful white and green flowers and mink bridesmaid dresses to complement her stunning ball-gown style dress, which made her look every inch a princess!

caroline says: We got engaged while on holiday in Mexico. One evening, just before it went dark, we were walking along the beach to dinner, it was a beautiful evening and there was no one around. Matthew asked me to move a large palm tree branch out of the way to take a picture. I moved it to reveal the words ‘marry me?’ written in sand on top of a large leaf, I turned around to find Matthew on one knee with the ring in his hand. When we returned back to the hotel our room had been filled with rose petals, champagne and chocolates. It was perfect!
We got married on 8th August 2015 at Manchester Town Hall. The building is so beautiful we fell in love with it as soon as we went inside. We lived together for the first time in the city centre so it felt like a special place to get married. The wedding breakfast and reception were held at the Radisson Blu Edwardian hotel just a stone’s throw away from the town hall. We loved the look and feel of the hotel and the history of all the musicians who had performed there when it was the Free Trade Hall.
We didn’t have a theme as such, we wanted to keep in style with the elegance of the Halle Suite at the Radisson so chose white flowers and lots of candles. Our colour scheme was a mink colour for the bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s cravats. We wanted everything to be neutral.
