Situated at the centre of Newcastle’s cultural quarter, the unique venue – which was the only North East-based venue shortlisted for “Best City Venue” in the 2016 UK Wedding Awards – will be hosting its wedding open day on Saturday 6th May 2017, between 12pm and 3pm.
The event is an opportunity to see the gallery’s dedicated events space, The Biscuit Room laid out for a ceremony and reception. This purpose-built function room is one of the largest in the city, accommodating up to 150 guests for a ceremony and 250 seated guests for a meal and party.
Throughout the afternoon, The Biscuit Factory’s events team will be on hand to talk to guests, one-to-one, about the venue’s unique portfolio of services, The Wedding Collection. Couples looking to tie the knot in 2018 can take advantage of an exclusive 10% off offer, for a minimum of 80 guests*. Plus, for brides and grooms keen to tie the knot this summer, The Biscuit Factory is offering its full Wedding Collection for 80 guests, for only £5,000* (inc VAT), with additional guests charged at £62.50 per person.
Guests can also enjoy a selection of handpicked canapés and home churned ice creams as a little taster of the in-house catering; accompanied by a complimentary glass of fizz.

We’re fortunate to host our Luxury Wedding Shows at some of the north’s finest wedding venues, including The Mansion in Leeds – a truly gorgeous stately home set within Roundhay Park.
Not only is this venue beautiful on both the inside and out, but it also boasts first class catering and wedding planning services provided by hospitality and event experts Dine.
Ahead of our spring wedding fair at The Mansion this Sunday (which we are SUPER excited about!), the Dine team invited us to experience the incredible food and service that they deliver to wedding couples at the venue during a Dine Ambassadors’ Dinner.

Joined by fellow wedding professionals, we were told to expect an evening of “food & flowers” – two of our very favourite things – and so we were highly intrigued as to what lay in store.
Much to our delight, the event began with a floral crown making workshop, hosted by wedding floristry specialist Twisted Willow. Owner director (and all-round flower wizard) Joanna Cairns demonstrated creative uses for the armfuls of flowers, berries and foliage that span across the tables in The Mansion’s Garden Room Café, before we were let loose on the roaming piles of roses, ranunculus and hydrangeas.
Each of the ladies present, including ourselves, fully embraced the challenge by carefully wiring the stunning blooms to create some really bold and beautiful designs. To brides-to-be out there toying with the option of a flower crown for their big day, we simply say, do it! Nothing feels quite as pretty (or strangely, as empowering) as a beautiful ring of florals to top off your attire!
After a sea of selfies to show off our horticultural creations, it was onto the ‘food’ element of the evening, and boy we’re we in for a treat! Bucking the new year trend of abstinence, the canapes and three-course meal followed a theme of indulgence with chocolate cleverly incorporated into every course.
A treat for all the senses, each stage of the meal was beautifully presented and the aromas were nothing short of divine, not to mention the taste!
After canapes of venison tartare on chocolate spätzle discs; ham hock and smoked Wensleydale croquette with apple gel, and Caprini goats cheese cones with tomato and dill concase and fig and balsamic caviar, we took our seats at beautifully dressed tables in The Mansion’s Colonnades Room for the main event.
Each course was served with paired wines, supplied by Hoults wine merchants, to educate and excite our taste buds further. To start, we served crab and saffron risotto, pan fried scallops and tempura soft shell crab, followed by a main course of fallow deer with spiced Umbrain lentils, choucroute, smoked kale and chocolate jus. And as if we weren’t already in food heaven, the best was yet to come – dessert! As part of an ‘indulgence’ menu we were particularly looking forward to the sweet course, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Dark chocolate and rosemary tart with fennel ice-cream, orange sherbet and baked white chocolate – pure pudding perfection!
The whole evening was a true treat that showcased The Mansion’s stunning rooms, whilst inviting us to learn a new skill and sample the incredible cuisine created by Dine’s awarding-winning chefs. Foodies and fans of fine interiors alike will fall head over heels for this wonderful venue as we do time and time again!

For those Brides Up North readers who are new around these parts, we have a loyal and local following both on these pretty pages and off, and have hosted over 80 gorgeous wedding exhibitions and soirees since 2012! We’ve amassed
a fair bit a ridiculous amount of experience in this time, and are always tweaking our events and offering (every single event at every single one of our beautiful partner venues is completely bespoke and meticulously planned from scratch each season, we’re fussy like that). We generally hate blowing our own trumpet (modest? us? noooo!) but we really do think that our shows are the very best in the business, and pride ourselves on delivering an amazing and inspiring experience to both our visiting brides and exhibitors alike.

We’re also looking ahead to 2018, when we’ll be hosting a designer wedding experience for brides UK wide in collaboration with glossy Unveiled Magazine. brides/UNVEILED, The Luxury Wedding Show For The North, will now debut spring 2018 at Harrogate International Centre. As an immersive luxury bridal experience spanning two days in this celebrated, accessible exhibition space in the heart of the UK, brides/UNVEILED will aim to bring the stylish pages of our popular media products to life. With bespoke spaces, creative concepts and luxe visual displays like no other, this high end consumer bridal event aims to connect the inspiration gathering process with the professionals who can deliver sensational results.
