Now back to the action…

We made use of the stunning folly in the Hardwick Hall Hotel country park for our photographs

I told you we were posers.

Now for some fun! As a surprise, my parents had commissioned a vodka luge in the shape of the Eiffel Tower, where Alan proposed. Drinking lots of vodka has its consequences…
.

Our beautiful cake was by Celebration Cakes Peterlee, with fresh sweet avalanche roses from Claire De Lune florist. Claire also did all the stunning centrepieces, top table, bouquets, buttonholes and floral displays as well as providing the perfect charcoal grey chair ties.

We had a Native Colchester Oyster bar and a huge cheese table along with canapes, the wedding breakfast, a hog roast and bacon sarnies (for the hard core party people at 1am)! No-one went hungry!

Steve Walls was our magnificent singer and also compere during the day. He had everyone up and dancing before the starters had been served, and right through dinner (the consequences of all that vodka)!
.
Thank you Steve, you are fantastic! North East brides – book this man!

The groovy Chameleon Party Band took over from Steve to do our first dance (Moondance by Van Morrison, if you are asking),and we partied the night away with the help of Chameleon and later Starlight Disco.
.
There was a conga, some air guitar and some very sore head the next morning….

I had the most perfect day, thanks to my wonderful family and friends, an amazing venue and some truly stellar North East suppliers. My advice to Brides Up North? Think local.
.
So. Shall we do it all over again with a vow renewal next year?! Just kidding Dad.
