So. As of Friday at 5:01pm, I am officially a professional wedding blogger. I have pulled the emergency cord and ejector seated out of a comfortable and (very) well paid career as a lawyer, to work full time on Brides Up North.
.
I could panic, but I’m not going to. That’s because this feels more right that anything ever has before, ever. I adore writing. I heart weddings. I love the wedding industry and the people in it, who have embraced me as one of their own. But most of all, I whole heartedly believe in this little wedding blog’s message – and that’s that – Northern Bridal Talent FULL ON ROCKS – and I want to keep shouting about it to the people who matter. And that is you, my lovely loyal readers and Brides to Be.
.
So what’s next for this wedding blog as we move into this brave new era? Well, I have just a few things up my sleeve and down my trouser legs. I don’t want to spoil all the surprises, but here is just a snapshot of what you can expect from me, moving onwards and upwards!
.
.
A double daily dose (if not more!) of gorgeous real and star spun celebrity weddings, bridal fashion, supplier showcases, news, reviews and amazing discounts.
.
Bigger and better wedding blog giveaways.
.
Magazine quality features.
.
Brilliant Brides Up North styled shoots.
.
Bridal advice clinics, top tips and helpful hints on everything from bridesmaids to budgets.
.
Massive Brides Up North branded events especially for brides to be (more news on this coming very shortly!)
.
Personal posts about my experiences as a wedding blogger in a new series, “The Saturday Sessions.”
.
And, most of all… lots and lots and lots of rockin’ Northern wedding talent.
.
.
…it’s going to be epic! I can’t wait to get started…

Hi Julia! I just wanted to say, congratuations on taking the big step an leaving your job to do something you love! Its lear that there was enough to keep you in your job as a lawyer but for you that wasnt enough, which is why you are to be praised for taking this amazing step!! I love the blog, I check it at least once a day, and I think you have a truly brilliant thing going here! If I can ask/make a suggestion from a bride to be, I found it very difficult to find a decent venue that reflected our style and budget, maybe you could compile a list/page/link of a many wedding venues as you can, quirky, obvious cheap excepnsive, etc, as a helpful resource for the brand new brides to be who are daunted by the sheer size of choice up north =) Keep the amazing work going, and thank you again!
Hi Julia – I can’t believe I missed this when you posted it, thank goodness for Bridetide or I wouldn’t have seen your post.
Well done and congratulations on going full time as a wedding blogger. I’m delighted for you and excited to see where Brides Up North goes next. It sounds great – can’t wait to see what you have hidden down your trouser legs for us. 😉
Enjoy the freedom – it’s a magical way to live your life.
