Good morning everybody!  I have sprung out of bed with a spring in my step because tonight is my Yorkshire Brides Up North Tweet Up networking event.  I am all kinds of excited and nervous, with a whole lot of wedding industry talent expected to descend in 12 hours time.  Before then, I have a whole lot of prepping, preening, glittering, arranging, styling and goody bag stuffing to go.  Wish me luck!

.

If you are coming tonight, and just happen to be reading this morning, why not leave a message on this post to say hello and introduce your business to my lovely bride to be readers?

I wanted to mark the occasion by paying a little wedding blog homage to my adopted home county – beautiful Yorkshire (I arrived 11 years ago for University and apart from a brief stint working on the glossies in London, I’ve never left), in a fun, tongue in cheek styled shoot by the marvellous duo that are Greyeye Photography.  These guys are a hoot, whilst also remaining super professional and producing some amazing images on location in the gorgeous Yorkshire town of Holmfirth (where the epic Last Of The Summer Wine was filmed).

.

With stunning dresses from The Harrogate Wedding Lounge, pair of wellies, a flat cap and a whippet, this was always going to be an interesting mixture.  You know what?  I think we pulled it off.

.

SO, without further ado… I give you “I Heart Yorkshire…”

I had such a great day with Matt and Andy of Greyeye Photography that I couldn’t resist taking a trip behind the lens.  These two are absolutely hilarious and had me in stitches all day long.

With HUGE thanks to The Harrogate Wedding Lounge, “The World Famous Sid’s Cafe” and The Wrinkled Stocking Tea Room, not forgetting the absolute star of the show (who behaved perfectly throughout): Skye the Whippet, his owner Janet and her very patient husband.

Love these Julia. I moved to Yorkshire nearly 4 years ago, and don’t quite have the same love for it that you do (yet). Although these pictures are going some way to changing my mind.

    See you tonight xx

Oh wow, these are just delightful! Wish I could have made every BUNTweet up to meet all these wonderful suppliers you keep introducing! Good luck this week, I’m sure they’ll be just as good, if not better, than the Northwest one! x

This shoot was one of the most fun and surreal ones I have ever done, there is something a bit peculiar about about taking over a cafe filled with bikers and grannies to shoot a bride drinking a cup of tea!

That brolly I had to run after went quite far as well looking at that picture! Great fun though and we’ll have to do it again some time!

Fantastic images capturing that authentic Yorkshire eccentricity perfectly.
A couple of fine photographers with a very glamourous model and the wonderfully dramatic backdrop that could only be Yorkshire!

Magic! I’m still very much a foreigner after only 6 years in York, but these photos really capture all that’s great. So sorry I couldn’t make the Tweet Up.

Love these photos Julia! Have lived in Yorkshire for 24 years this month…..scary how time flies! I might not have the accent but consider myself a Yorkshire girl for sure! Looking forward to seeing the photos from the BUNTweetup! 🙂 x
