Now that the nights are officially darker, my week day evening plans are all about snuggling up at home, chunky knits, an open fire, hot soup with crusty bread, steaming mugs of mulled wine and a few DIY projects in the run up to the festive season.  Funny that, as a little while ago, I ran a DIY wedding competition here on the wedding blog from Serif, offering five wedding blog readers the chance to win a Craft Artist Wedding Day Stationery Kit.

August 29, 2011 | We have the tiniest budget for our beachside wedding. EVERYTHING is handmade. Burlap table runners. Small centrepieces. Hanging lanterns. Photobooth. Invitations will be by hand too if I don’t win!

August 29, 2011 | We are having a wedding that rocks!! Including making VIP pass invites for the guests and making rock stick favours!! We are making the table centrepieces ourselves somehow with drumsticks involved somewhere as my partner is a drummer!!

August 30, 2011 | What a good idea! We are making everything. I have started on the bunting, and having a go at knocking up a veil. I’m working on the cake topper out of wire which is twisted around to make a tree, with green beads as the leaves. We’re having our reception on a farm so I am making lots of wooden signs so guests know exactly where to go. I’m not so handy with the paper side of things so this looks perfect!

September 4, 2011 | I’ve been struggling along for MONTHS in MS Publisher trying to create our stationary. I’m no tech whizz kid so there have been tears and tantrums. This would solve ALL my problems in one go!

September 4, 2011 | That software would be very helpful. We made our own save the date magnets and would be helpful to have some good software to help with invites!

Also planning to make all the decorations, including bunting (miles of it I think) and am currently planning to make the wedding cake myself.
